Thread: AP: Armstrong won't challenge doping allegations; loses Tour titles (Lance to confess)

It's very difficult to believe someone when so many people say he did it. That said, when you've passed as many drug tests as he has, it's hard to say he has too.

Honestly, I'm not seeing any sufficient evidence to say that he did use PED's other then "He said, she said" statements. So until then, I'm not going to call him guilty.

I'm also on the boat that says that some things are better left alone. An amazing story about a guy with one nut winning the Tour de France 7 straight times is one of them.

my question was more a general statement that doesnt exactly apply to you. I dont get why that matters at all.

USADA will almost certainly treat Armstrong's decision as an admission of guilt, and hang the label of drug cheat on an athlete who was a hero to thousands for overcoming life-threatening testicular cancer and for his foundation's support for cancer research.
The agency can impose a lifetime ban and recommend Armstrong be stripped of his titles. That would put the question in the hands of the International Cycling Union, which has disputed USADA's authority to pursue the investigation and Tour de France officials, who have had a prickly relationship with Armstrong over the years.
    He done.

If he's not guilty, why did he give up? Why did he stop fighting? Do you think any less of the man now that his legacy is in question? He did a lot of good things for cancer patients and promoted awareness, but he allegedly cheated and his records are now tarnished.

    because he is a cheat.

its a hollow victory tho, Tour De France wont strip him of his titles. But he definitely cheated.

I wouldnt care if he wasnt such a bully tho.

every tour winner since WW2, at least, has done some type of PED because that event cannot be done without it.

As many said before me, in this very thread, the guy repeatedly claimed he was clean, and fought so hard for that reputation, and he's going to give up now? You didn't give up before after all the accusations. You vehemently deny, deny, deny, and then now, give up?

Seems kind of suspicious to me. An implicit admission of guilt. What a shame.

I mean, just come clean. Just admit it. Nothing wrong with telling the truth, and begging for forgiveness. Lying is despicable.

The irony is I criticized the "Moral soapbox" guy when they criticized Tiger Woods. However, I'm going to stand up on my moral soapbox and laugh at Lance and his fall from grace. You cheating, lying, scumbag.

Definitely quite a fall from grace. This guy was the ultimate underdog after battling testicular cancer and then winning the titles. The guy is going to be totally vilified in the ultimate individual sport. Obviously, it goes without saying he shouldn't done it and will likely face more problems as the months go on.
