Santorum Knocks Reagan On Social Security
Fresh off his second-place finish in the Iowa caucuses, GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum took part in a town hall event in New Hampshire, held Wednesday evening in a Brentwood nursing home.
Santorum outlined his stance on social security at the event, spending a good 10 minutes on the issue. In the process, he took aim at a revered Republican figure, knocking former President Ronald Reagan's 1983 Social Security deal. Santorum criticized Reagan's decision to raise both the retirement age and taxes, linking those choices to the nation's current fiscal crisis.
"I love Ronald Reagan, but if I would point to one thing during his administration that he did a serious wrong, it was this bill, it was this Social Security fix," Santorum told the crowd. "He brought the idea of increasing taxes now, which is always what the left wants to do. Increase taxes now and reduce benefits later."
New data shows Santorum gaining ground in the Granite State. A Thursday Suffolk University poll has the former senator rising from fifth to third place, with eight percent of the vote. While rival Mitt Romney holds a considerable edge at 41 percent, Reuters reports that Santorum has eyes set on contests down the road.
"Obviously Mitt Romney is at 40 percent in the polls, the chances in five days to make up a 35 or 40 point lead is going to be pretty limited but we expect to make a run and to move up in those polls and to show that we're the candidate with the momentum and we'll carry that into South Carolina," he said.

Santorum Criticizes Obama's Handling Of Bin Laden
TILTON, N.H. -- Rick Santorum downplayed President Obama's decision to order the assassination of Osama bin Laden, saying it "wasn't a strategic decision," but rather dictated by policies put in place by his predecessor.
"The Obama administration has been an abject failure on every front on foreign policy when it comes to problems that have come up on his watch," Santorum said during a campaign stop.
"And of course he would say, 'Oh, we got bin Laden.' Well, I would say, 'The problems that came up under his watch.' Getting bin Laden was a continuation of policy that was set by the Bush administration. All he did, and I give him credit, after being pressured for a long time, in which he held off on all the reports, he finally conceded to go after him. And I think it was the right move."
"But that wasn't a strategic decision," Santorum added. "That wasn't a problem that came up and he had to make decisions as to what American foreign policy was. He continued foreign policy. Same thing with Iraq and Afghanistan. Both were a continuation of Bush policy."
It's worth recalling that four years ago, at roughly this time, Obama was being criticized for deviating from traditional foreign policy norms by announcing, during his campaign, that he'd target bin Laden in Pakistan if he had actionable intelligence. To call that, in addition to the ratcheting up of drone attacks, non-strategic, more or less redefines what constitutes foreign policy "strategy."

Do I really look like a guy with a plan? You know what I am? I'm a dog chasing cars. I wouldn't know what to do with one if I caught it! You know, I just... *do* things.
You know, these people? They're schemers. Gordon? He's got a plan. Batman's got a plan. Maroni's got a plan.
I just did what I do best. I took your little plan and I turned it on itself. Look what I did to this city with a few drums of gas and a couple of bullets. Hmmm? You know... You know what I've noticed? Nobody panics when things go "according to plan." Even if the plan is horrifying! If, tomorrow, I tell the press that, like, a gang banger will get shot, or a truckload of soldiers will be blown up, nobody panics, because it's all "part of the plan". But when I say that one little old mayor will die, well then everyone loses their minds!
Introduce a little anarchy. Upset the established order, and everything becomes chaos. I'm an agent of chaos. Oh, and you know the thing about chaos? It's fair!

we're not all there
Rick Santorum: The new "Not Romney." He'll get his 3 days of fame, then fade back into the 8th tier where he belongs.

This is something incredible that Santorum recently said:
"The answer is not what can we do to prevent deaths because of a lack of health insurance. There’s — I reject that number completely, that people die in America because of lack of health insurance,” Santorum said to a crowd of 100."
People die in America because people die in America. And people make poor decisions with respect to their health and their healthcare."

I feel bad for The Onion. Some of these candidates say stuff so amazingly out of touch and stupid that it must be pretty hard to come up with satire stories that are any crazier sounding than what they actually say.

I dunno. I think he peaked too early (his "momentum can't last past SC), but for the life of me I can't figure out who's left. Newt had his shot and failed. Perry had his shot and failed. Bachmann was one of the first anti-Romneys and she failed. Cain fizzled completely in his role of anti-Romney. Paul's been the anti-Romney, but he's also constantly been the 3rd guy. Paul vs. Romney vs. Not Romney. I don't know who's left. Hunstman? Johnson? Huntsman's go the same Mormon issue that Romney will face with evangelicals, and Johnson has no name recognition. Maybe you're right, and Santorum is the last gasp of "Anybody but that Mormon and crazy Uncle Ron" but I just don't see it lasting.

Santorum wants to impose 'Judeo-Christian Sharia'
On Thanksgiving Day at an Iowa candidates' forum, he reiterated: "We have civil laws, but our civil laws have to comport with the higher law."
Yes, that means exactly what you think it does: Santorum believes that each and every one of our government's laws must match God's law, warning that "as long as there is a discordance between the two, there will be agitation." I'm not exactly sure what "agitation" means in this context, but I think it's a code word for something much worse than acid reflux.
And as an aside, when Santorum says "God," he means "not any god (but) the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob." So, if your god differs from Rick's, your god's views will be ignored, just like the father is on "Keeping Up with the Kardashians."
Some of you might be asking: How far will "Santorum Two" take this? It's not like he's going to base public policy decisions on Bible passages, right?
Well, here's what Santorum had to say just last week when asked about his opposition to gay marriage: "We have Judeo-Christian values that are based on biblical truth. ... And those truths don't change just because people's attitudes may change."
