Absolutely. As much as I think OJ and Casey committed the crimes, they faced their day in court and were acquitted. As far as the legal system is concerned, they did are not guilty of the crimes they were charged with. The rest of the country should act the same way.

Yeah, pretty funny. And Dan, I have no doubt that Casey was involved. But she was founf not guilty, and we should treat her as such.

Just because...

I disagree with the parts I underlined. Just because she was acquitted doesn't mean that the rest of the world has to suspend common sense and just forget about it. I realize we can't change the outcome and I certainly hope no one takes matter into their own hands, but I don't think we just have to sit back and accept that a mother killing her daughter is just water under the bridge because the prosecution didn't get enough evidence to convict.

Put it this way. Nobody will be hiring her as a nanny anytime soon.
Flying Vince Lombardi x x x x x x x x x x x Ryan Kerrigan... Funky-style

We all know she is responsible, but can we at least act with some civility? I'm not actually pointing at you or anybody in particular but some of the reaction is so vitriolic and hate spewed that it cheapens us all as a society.
After the OJ trial, new techniques and procedures were introduced in the way they handle evidence. They learned from their mistakes in that trial and they will in this one too. Our justice system is not perfect, but it's a pretty damn good one.
As for Casey, all the histrionics displayed mean absolutely nothing. She is and will be a pariah in our society and never to be accepted nor trusted.
What I don't understand and maybe I am reading it wrong.
Why do people think because we accept the not guilty verdict that we dismiss the suspect of all guilt? Personally, that's not the case at all. I accept the verdict because I have faith in our justice system.
Would you rather everyone be subject to double jeopardy, being compelled to testify and give justices the ability to sentence as they fit with no guidelines or appeal?
May you live as long as you want, but never want as long as you live
Where did I say forget about it? I said treat her as not guilty. Show her the same respect you would have before this case ever came to light. She was found not guilty, and she should be treated as such. She is a lair, so if you want to not trust her then she has earned that mistrust. She, however, should not be treated as a killer or a murderer. She was tried and acquitted of those charges.

I just disagree. As you mentioned, if we use common sense we can pretty reliably conclude that she killed her defenseless little girl. To me, that supersedes the fact that they couldn't find enough evidence to convict her. Again, I'm not saying that she should go to jail or be tried again...just that everyone has the right to believe she's still a killer and harbor bad feelings about her if they want to. I don't ever have to speak about Casey Anthony again as though she didn't kill her daughter just because she was found not guilty.
Edit: To be clear...society should treat her as a normal person in that she should have all the same rights anyone else does. But an individual citizen does not have to pretend none of this ever happened. Each person is free to still "blame" Casey Anthony for her daughter's death.
