RIP 21
NO Pressure, No Diamonds, KNOW Pressure, Know Diamonds!
Griffin said that he was going to watch the game with his family and that he will never attend a Super Bowl if he needs a ticket to get in.
No, she changed her story on multiple occasions giving vague answers and even claiming the fictitious nanny had the kid.
The defense came up with the drowning/accidental death theory. This IT oversight is just sickening because specific searches on Mozilla Firefox for terms like "Fool-proof suffocation" (followed immediately by logging into her freaking MySpace page) would have helped the prosecution show this was her that conducted the inquiry and this was a premediated murder, not an accidental death. Just disgusting all around.
Oh well, it's in God's hands now as far as I'm concerned and she's not going to be able to wiggle her way out of that judgement.

After sleeping on this, I suppose this really wouldn't have been a game-changer. In the end, didn't they already have a bunch of searches from that same computer? If searching on other things didn't convict her, this probably would have also been considered circumstantial.
"Washington strolled to the NFC championship, outscoring their two playoff opponents by a combined total of 48 points. Their domination was more than impressive, it was historic. The 1991 Redskins boasted the largest average margin of victory among all Super Bowl champions."

So now that this new **** has come to light, is there any going back?
It looks like they pulled searches from IE, but IE wasn't the browser that she mainly used. Whoever did the investigation didn't look at Firefox.
I dunno if anything in the IE searches was anything like this...but it'd be unbelievable that a jury couldn't connect the dots on a woman who killed her kid and a search like this. I mean if someone had searched how to set off a pipe bomb and then was on trial for setting off a pipe bomb...

Ok, that is all pretty good evidence then.
I didn't follow this trial that closely at all, but when the verdict came out I was someone who would have said I had reasonable doubt, based on what I heard at that time. I'm pretty sure that in this thread I said the same if you go back. IF this evidence had been presented to me then, I would have said she was guilty.
What would A World Without Lawyers be like?
Actually, this latest finding is extremely important and could have potentially changed the outcome of the trial.
Reason being the Firefox brower gave more specific details to exactly what she was searching.
Immediately after the search for "fool-proof suffocation" the user logged onto Casey's MySpace page. This creates much stronger circumstantial evidence that it was, in fact, Casey doing the search. It would have made it more difficult for her mother to perjur herself on the stand saying she did the searches... Also, neither Casey or her mother, would have been able to claim their searches were a mistake (mom said the chlorophorm search was an accident and she was meaning to look up chlorophyll - yeah right). There's really no potential innocent explanation for searching for "fool-proof suffocation" measures.
Finally, if they had been able to essentially prove Casey had done the OVER 1,200 searches on her browser, that would have shot down the theory that this was an accidental death (a theory the defense relied very heavily on).
Who knows what would have actually happened, and it's not going to change the outcome now, but holy crap that was a major oversight (if this situation is true as stated). I'm sure this is beyond frustrating for the prosecutors to now find out about. If this story is completely true...someone should be fired, BIGTIME, for this.

I still say there is some wacko out there that might eventually get to her. Not that I'm advocating it or anything. But usually people that commit these crimes don't always avoid the law. Look at OJ. This doofus gets off of double murder and still managed to end up back in the slammer.
I, too, am a believer in karma.

Yeah, I'm about in the same boat as you.
The chloroform searches on internet explorer were largely discounted because prosecutors couldn't PROVE who did the searches. Additionally, Cindy Anthony perjured herself on the stand by saying that she was the person who accidently conducted those searches when researching chlorophyll (even though she was still clocked in at work and wouldn't have been home at the time). If they had presented this evidence pretty much nailing Casey as the person who ran the searches (evidenced by logging into her myspace page immediately after the suffocation search), I think it would have been much easier to prove premeditation and a lot more difficult for the jury to find reasonable doubt (as it was, initial jury polling had 2 jurors voting guilty when they only had evidence of the chloroform searches to consider).
I really need to just forget about the case and move on, but it was definitely a very emotional case that drew a lot of people in (me included). It's just very sad to hear about these new developmens now and knowing that they could have possibly changed the outcome of the case![]()
