the university wouldn't let anderson hire leech, because of the incident at Texas tech
I'm hoping like hell that we get Fuller. Vincent went to Tech and Kyle and Corey are current players. Wouldn't be surprised at all if he got scooped by an SEC team but I would be surprised and upset if we lost him to UMD.
Disagree entirely. It's petty and spiteful. O'Brein had nothing to do with Ralph getting fired or Edsall getting fired and even if he did cause problems behind the scene, it shouldn't matter where he goes unless he's going to a rival school, another ACC school or some other school that UMD is playing. Let the kid go somewhere where he can succeed, be a mature adult about the situation.

Young chose Va Tech over MD & others in May 09. Was among region's top dual-threat QB recruits. Moved on to New Mex. & then Iowa Western CC.

Harrison twins focused on four schools
If there was any lingering speculation that Maryland’s basketball staff had begun to lose hope of landing prized Houston twins Aaron Harrison and Andrew Harrison, it was quelled when coach Mark Turgeon and assistant Bino Ranson made back-to-back Texas swings the past two weeks.
InsideMDSports.com caught up with their father, Aaron Harrison Sr., for a recap and an update on the recruitment of his sons – the top-ranked shooting guard (Aaron) and point guard (Andrew) in the class of 2013.
“It went well. I guess that’s a loaded question because I’ve never had a visit not go well, but I know Turgeon. I’ve had a good relationship with him for probably three years,” Harrison Sr. said. “It’s kind of different because I’ve known him for a while, so it’s not a big sales pitch because I already know who he is and what kind of person he is. So it’s not a sales pitch. I think it’s just letting us know how important [the twins are].
“What I like about Coach Turgeon is, he’s really transparent. He means what he says and he says what he means. So there’s not a lot of fluff. I’m not a big fluff guy."
Harrison did say that he’s gotten the impression his sons are the first two big dominoes the Terps’ staff is waiting for in their 2013 recruiting efforts, but said there remains no timetable for a decision.
“Not really. Not really a timetable at all. They definitely want to go to schools they haven’t been to yet, and they want to visit Maryland again, and that’s probably about it,” Harrison Sr. said.
Harrison Sr. said they want to visit Villanova, the only school of the four his sons are seriously considering that they haven't yet visited. Harrison said it's unlikely his sons will end up anywhere outside of Maryland, Kentucky, Villanova or Baylor.
“The decision is their decision," Harrison Sr. said. "I’m here to support them, but it’s their decision. I’m not going to college. If something [bad] happened at whatever school they choose, that will be their situation to deal with. That’s part of becoming a man. [But] unless something drastic was to happen, it will be one of those schools.”

Maryland hoping Harrison twins will be program-changers
Maryland needs program-changers.
Looking ahead to the Class of 2013, the Terps need a couple of players who can come in and change the face of the program, but who also have skill and high basketball IQ.
The answer could be the Harrison twins.
Andrew and Aaron Harrison, both 6-foot-5 and out of Richmond (TX) Travis High, are among the top five players in the class.
And Maryland is one of four schools – along with Villanova, Kentucky and Baylor – that the twins are “more than likely going to,” Aaron Harrison Sr. told FiveStarBasketball.com during an exclusive interview.
"I'm from Maryland, I've known [assistant coach] Bino Ranson for a long time and [head coach] Mark [Turgeon], he's been recruiting them since he has been at Texas A&M," Harrison Sr. added.
Going forward, Turgeon and his staff want to build around a core group of players – Terrell Stoglin (if he doesn't go pro),Alex Len, Ashton Pankey, James Padgett, Pe'Shon Howard, Nick Faust and incoming recruits Jake Layman andShaquille Cleare.
The Harrisons are AAU teammates with the 6-9 Cleare on the Houston Defenders, and Harrison Sr. likes how Layman, a Boston Area Basketball Club star, plays.
"They got some players that fit in so well with Aaron and Andrew, like Jake Layman," Harrison Sr. said. "He fits perfect, long player, plays hard, isn't about stats. He's a long 3 who can catch and shoot."
He added: "You have Aaron, Andrew, Jake and then Shaq. Throw that in with the others pieces they have and you have a real good team."
For his part, Cleare is already working on the talented twins.
"Maryland has always been on the list," Harrison Sr. said. "Shaq is their friend, he's recruiting them."

RT @DanWolken: Wow, Sally Jenkins takes the filet knife to Randy Edsall and digs the hell in wapo.st/y4Reoa
It is a great sign that Maryland is even in consideration for getting the twins. It would be a major coup and a definite departure from the Gary Williams days. I will keep my fingers crossed for the twins to end up at Maryland.
Jenkins article is one of the best pieces of journalism I have read this year. Completely destroys Edsall. No bowl this season = fire him. What really turns me off is his disciplinarian ways. He's like a thousand times worse than Shanahan. Shanahan won 2 Super Bowls. What has Edsall done, other than his last year at UConn?

Maryland won't schedule Georgetown. At this point, there is pretty much no reason why these two schools should not schedule each other regularly.
DC Classic. Invite all local teams. Issue resolved.
What would A World Without Lawyers be like?

Its been a home-home issue with the verizon center being Gtowns "home". Concern is that would be like a neutral site game and not a home court game for the Hoyas.
GTown is just chicken. Bock, bock!!
MD women had a great win against Duke this past weekend. Ended their 16 game ACC winning streak.

Redskins 2013 Opponents:
Home- Dallas, NY Giants, Philadelphia, Detroit, Chicago, San Francisco, Kansas City, San Diego
Away- Dallas, NY Giants, Philadelphia, Green Bay, Minnesota, Atlanta, Denver, Oakland
Should Maryland beat GT, they would be .500 in the ACC
Good gritty club this year. May not make tournament but they have heart
