Good deal. Turgeon and his staff should get some kudos after losing the twins, they were still able to pull this off

Roddy Peters Picks His ‘Dream School’ Maryland Over Rutgers

Suitland (Md.) point guard Roddy Peters picked his “dream school” in Maryland, choosing the Terps over Rutgers in the end.

“It came down to Maryland and Rutgers,” George McClure, Peters’s high school coach, told SNY.tv Tuesday morning.

“Rutgers was last minute, he went back and forth [between the two schools],” McClure added. “They did a great job of recruiting him. He had a great visit there. They have some D.C. guys on their team so he would’ve felt very at home.”

He added: “As his coach I had to tell him last year that he couldn’t verbalize that Maryland was his dream school, but there’s no doubt that Maryland was his dream school at the end and that’s what showed up at the end. And the opportunity to play for them he just couldn’t pass up.”

The 6-foot-4 Peters is the Rivals No. 9 points guard in the Class of 2013. He averaged 23.0 points last season, including 30.5 in four playoff games, to go with 5.2 assists and 2.4 steals per game.

McClure said Kansas and Georgetown were also in the mix but Kansas was no longer an option after shooting guard Wayne Selden committed to the Jayhawks.

Hills probably out for the season on that one.

3 timeouts, 1 minute left. Of course you don't call a timeout. Idiot Edsall. Therefore you have no rush a play call and Hills rushes a throw into a pick.

Well, at least the defense looks better than the last time they played NC State.

Maryland may not win every game

They fought hard out there defensively and didn't give up 1000 points like their last meeting

Credit to much improved Maryland defense

Say what you want about today's game (and I'm definitely not impressed with the kicker), but I was impressed with our offense. I mean Diggs wasn't involved in the second half and part of me wanted to at least try to get him the ball before we tried the FG (had a bad feeling when we went out of bounds on the play before). That said, I was impressed with the running of _____ and the 4th quarter drive of Rowe. Not saying that he's special because many of those yards came in the same fashion as what Jason Campbell used to get stats in - teams are defending against the deep ball so he throws it shorter and depends on YAC. That being said, for a true freshman redshirt to come in and do this gives me some hope that losing Peyton won't hurt as bad - and is he gone for a long period of time?

the kicker cost us the game in multiple ways. The missed extra point made all that happen otherwise game is still at 20-20

Actually, I hate to say this, but Hills going out for the year is good for the offense. We were originally going to run the option with Brown, but had to switch to an offense with Hills that doesn't suit us. With Evans, you lose the passing ability that Brown had to along with his great option running, but Evans is alot faster. And Rowe can come in and toss it if need be. It's sort of a blessing in disguise.

Couple of more points. Someone make Wes Brown carry a football all over campus and have people randomly try to knock the ball out. If he fumbles one more godamn time, I'm going to college park and break his hands.

And Craddock. Really? Not only an extra point, but an easy FG. Only had to kick it straight. He pullled a Lucy/Charlie Brown on me. Just pulled the ball away before I was going to kick it. Friggin Kangaroo ass. Aye mate, ya got to kick tha ball bettah.

Great early AM practice here at the Comcast Center. Fear the Turtle!
Leaving College Park with this thought --- Maryland is a postseason team. With Dez Wells equals NCAA --- without him means the bubble.[/B]

    Jon Rothstein ‏@JonRothstein

Impressed with Maryland's balance and depth. Terps four man freshman class changes the dimension of this team.

    Jon Rothstein ‏@JonRothstein

Jake Layman has a "Chandler Parsons" type feel to his game. Everything looks effortless. Really smooth for a SF.

    Jon Rothstein ‏@JonRothstein

You can tell the Maryland staff just LOVES Michigan transfer Evan Smotrycz. Really shooting the ball well. Impact newcomer in 13-14.

    Jon Rothstein ‏@JonRothstein

Pe'Shon Howard and Alex Len stabilize Maryland at PG and C. Terps have a number of guys that can rotate 2-4.

    Jon Rothstein ‏@JonRothstein

Would expect @CoachTurgeon to rotate James Padgett, Charles Mitchell, + Shaq Cleare at PF. Terps have four capable bigs.

    Jon Rothstein ‏@JonRothstein

Maryland @CoachTurgeon said he hopes to hear from the NCAA on Dez Wells in the next week. If Wells plays this year, this is an NCAA team.

    Jon Rothstein ‏@JonRothstein

    .
@CoachTurgeon on Logan Aronhalt "You can't leave him open because of how well he shoots the ball. He'll open up driving lanes."

    Jon Rothstein ‏@JonRothstein

.@CoachTurgeon on Seth Allen "He's probably the most ready out of all of our freshmen."

    Jon Rothstein ‏@JonRothstein
    .

@CoachTurgeon on Jake Layman "He's smooth. He can shoot 3's and go off the dribble."

If Dez Wells plays this year that would be tremendous. Even without him this is one of the deeper teams in a long time.
