If you listen closely, you can hear the echoes of Faust clanging a shot on an empty court.

Good effort out there last night but not enough

They were down double digits but showed a lot of pride and heart in storming back and even taking the lead on Kentucky, but in the end it wasn't enough

There is a lot of positivity and well-deserved regarding this basketball team

Any concern about Wells' off night? Hopefully he will be able to contribute more

I was really disappointed with the entire back court, not just Wells... Only Len and Mitchell were anywhere near .500. Faust should be better, but his stroke is just terrible. I don't understand how a guy with no shot gets to be a 4 star recruit. Wells can at least take it to the basket if his shot isn't falling.

The black has always been used as trim from the MD flag. Just not a fan of teams like MD that are known for a particular color, using black as the primary color. Red, white and Yellow (gold, whatever) are the colors most associated with MD. Of course every team has to have a white uniform. I would like to see the Terps go the route of the Lakers and use the yellow at home and red on the road, with white at home in case another team has a yellow-gold shade like GA Tech.

I understand not being a fan, but it's certainly prominent.

I was at the game in Brooklyn. It was a good time. Nice that the crowd which looks more blue in the stands was pro-Maryland by the end. Every ticky tack whistle against Maryland was booed so loudly. Folks loved Len. He looked strong.

Good Terps....feel like this year is a "Welcome Back" to the show kind of season.

Only got to see the first half but love what Layman brings to the team. Kid has a shot and is fast, plays real hard runs up and down the court like a gazelle. And Padgett's post game has really improved, his senior presence is strong. Len has such a nice touch. I don't expect him to stay after this year, but would love to see him stay in College Park and develop. All the more reason this year has a lot of potential.

Maryland's colors derived from the state flag, but I don't necessarily think when they first started out, that that was their intention to mimic the state flag. Red, White and Yellow were MD's primary colors for a LONG time. Now, because alot of pro and college teams have been trying "black" uniforms, they feel like they need to also.

I'm just not a fan of black uniforms, especially when schools don't incorporate them as primary colors. Take for instance Stanford. Cardinal Red and White. Then all of the sudden they come out with a hideous black uniform.

You'll never convince me that MD looks good in black. I just don't like the look on them. Sorry.

Good news for you Maryland basketball fans.

CSN: Terps announce Peters, Dodd signings

The Maryland Terrapins on Wednesday made official the signing of two top recruits for their 2013 class. Guard Roddy Peters from Suitland, Md. and forward Damonte Dodd from Centreville, Va. have agreed to letters of intent to play for Mark Turgeon.

The 6’4” Peters is ranked as a five-star prospect and the 19th prospect overall by 247Sports.com. ESPN has him listed as the eighth best point guard in the 2013 class.

Coach Turgeon made a statement on Peters via a school press release.

“Roddy is a great kid and comes from a great family. He’s a great example of us trying to keep the best local players home at Maryland. Roddy loves Maryland and we recruit that - kids that love it here and really want to be here. He has excellent court vision, a great feel for the game and his length at his position is a great asset. He's an unselfish basketball player that is all about winning.”

Peters himself described why he chose Maryland in the same release:

“I really liked the coaching staff and I’m looking forward to playing and learning from Coach [Mark] Turgeon. Coach [Dalonte] Hill and I really bonded during this process.”

"Maryland basketball has great history and a rich tradition. I loved watching Steve Francis, Juan Dixon and Greivis Vasquez play. I am just excited to have the opportunity to continue playing basketball at the University of Maryland."

Dodd is listed at 6’9” and comes to College Park as the 12th ranked center by 247Sports.com. He is considered a three-star prospect.

Turgeon had this to say about the local product:

“Damonte will be fun to coach and he really has big upside. He plays extremely hard and he strives to get better every day. He's almost 6-foot-10 and still growing. He runs, rebounds, and blocks shots, and his best years on the basketball court are ahead of him. He fits the mold of who we recruit as an unselfish and good kid.”

Dodd himself expressed a comfort level with the Maryland staff:

“When the coaching staff came to see me play, I was just very excited. With Maryland being so close to home and so many people from my family, friends and high school coaches wanting me to go to Maryland, it was an easy decision. I like to make people happy so that weighed into my decision, but most of all I knew Maryland was the right place for me.”

“The coaching staff is like a family and they really look after their guys. Ultimately, everyone wants to make it to the NBA but they really emphasized getting your education, and that’s something that’s very important to me. You never know what happens, so my education is my first priority and the University of Maryland is a great school.”

247Sports.com now has the Maryland 2013 class rated as 21st best in the country.
