In retrospect, Turgeon knew exactly what his team was going to be. That is why he scheduled that cupcake non-conference run in the beginning of the season. It was the fans and alumni that overrated this team. They will be better next year. But, maybe not a consistent top 20 team. More like a step above a bubble team...

I disagree. I think if Turgeon keeps recruiting the way he has, MD can be a top 25 team. We almost had the Harrison twins. He's done real well in getting better players, but it takes time.
Redskins 2013 Opponents:
Home- Dallas, NY Giants, Philadelphia, Detroit, Chicago, San Francisco, Kansas City, San Diego
Away- Dallas, NY Giants, Philadelphia, Green Bay, Minnesota, Atlanta, Denver, Oakland
Rebuilding a whole college basketball program is tough to do. Its very hard to make the tournament in your first year with your recruits. We'll see results in his 2nd or 3rd year with, "his," guys.
Just aren't mature enough. No PG. No good shooter. Can't expect too much. Next year we'll be better but I don't see a perennial top 25 team. Allen, Wells, Mitchell, Cleare, and Layman all need to develop quickly if that is going to happen. The additions of Peters and Dodd are going to help. Howard will start at PG next year, he will be a senior and has earned it, even if he isn't that great. Len.....I personally don't care if he stays or not. He will help for sure though. I guess I hope he stays. He needs to stay for his own sake, not a chance in hell he is ready for the NBA.
I believe in Turgeon. Once he gets this team up to standard, I think he will have a long successful run with a possible championship or two. I just don't expect it next year and certainly not this year...

I agree. I just didn't want to admit it...

Maryland blew a 17 point lead and loses to UVA in OT. RIP Tourney hopes
These players are just not good. Len has regressed throughout the season. Howard is awful. Wells is the only player who wants to play
Back to back turnovers in the last minute of OT when you are down 2 is killer. They were lucky to even have a shot to tie at the end of the game. As far as Wells, don't mistake points for good play. He took twice as many shots as anyone else on MD to get his 12 points. He was a beast on the boards though. I'm not down on Wells, but Faust needed more shots, and they need to get the low post guys more involved. Wells is their best all around player, but he's not a good facilitator of the offense.

I hope Len goes to the NBA. He gets pushed around by everyone...

another meltdown. A few months ago if you asked which coach between Turg and Edsall might not be around when they join the Big 10, I'd say one more bad season and Edsall is done. But right now I could see a situation where you're also debuting two new coaches the first year there. I hate to think that because it felt like Turg was building a solid foundation. I don't get how Len has indeed regressed.
This Kevin Anderson experiment has been a huge failure.
I'm getting tired of Turgeon blaming the players for everything in interviews and NEVER accepting the blame for anything. Last night he went as far as to call a player dumb, before quickly correcting himself. Own your mistakes dude...you havent been able to get a rotation YET and fail to make in game adjustments it seems.
