WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- A 17-year-old boy is accused of bludgeoning his parents with a hammer, then hosting dozens of friends for a party while their bodies lay in the bedroom, police said Monday.
Tyler Hadley of Port St. Lucie is charged with twin counts of first-degree murder in the deaths, which authorities say happened Saturday. He is being held without bond at a juvenile detention center in Fort Pierce and it's not immediately known whether he has an attorney.
The parents – Blake and Mary-Jo Hadley – were believed to have been struck with the hammer in their heads and torsos sometime after their son posted on Facebook around 1:15 p.m. Saturday alerting friends to an evening party at his house, about 50 miles north of West Palm Beach.
Investigators believe the parents were attacked outside their master bedroom and the bodies were moved into the bedroom and the door locked.

Why are there so many crazy stories that come out of Florida? Seriously?

I swear if I end up getting married/having kids I'm refusing to raise them in FL if given the chance. Must be something in the water.

    Touche.

But I live in a city of >10 million. And this **** seems to happen in FL on a weekly basis. Combine that with the gun crazy governor who signed a law restricting doctor's speech and I say "no thanks" to FL.

Let's not make this a geography war. This happens too often in too many places. It's the result of evil or crazy or both. It's not something in the water or the state.

How insane to throw a party after killing your parents in the house where their corpses lie. That's some sick, sick stuff.

It is incredibly sick. And yes, this does happen in FL disproportionately. Why is that? Why is there always some awful story coming out of that state?

Hope no one at the party wanted a bloody mary

I agree that FL does have a lot of crazy, bizarre stories. Much more so than TX, CA, NY, IL, and other states with large populations.

It seemed that almost half of the teachers who had sex with their students were from FL.

You know, I'd love to see a statistic that describes these types of bizarre crimes and correlates it with the laxity in gun laws. I feel like its something psychological in the regional population or something.

    From the comments section:

"Dear Jose Baez, Every day before I went off to school, my mother made me put her privates in my mouth while my father put his up my rear. There is no one to dispute my claims because I had to kill them to protect myself from further damage. You may have heard I held a party immediately after their deaths. We all grieve in our own private way. Will you represent me? When the time comes, don't forget to bring along the consultant*s you used to select the jury for you last time. They did a great job! Most Sincerely, Tyler"

Sadly, I was thinking the same thing. I wonder if that scumbag lawyer will represent this piece of filth.

I think that's a perceptual fallacy. First, Florida is the nation's 4th most populous state, after California, Texas, and New York. So more stories out of Florida than 46 other states doesn't equate to a disproportionate amount. Second, if you read about a crime happening in Illinois, two hours later you forget if it was Illinois or Indiana or maybe Iowa. If it happens in Missouri, the next day you can't remember if it was Missouri or Mississipi or one of those other states in the Middle. Florida is the Sunshine State, the big penis sticking out into the ocean. It has a unique and memorable identity. So news from Florida sticks in the mind.

That, or maybe citric acid from the oranges makes people crazy.

Maybe, there are certain states that seem to attract crazy. Arizona seems to be way up there recently as well. Maybe it's worth doing an ethnology study to see what practices allow cultures to grow so many loons, but I still think condemning a state out of hand is irresponsible. Sadly, all states have had its share of monsters.

Well, Oxycontin is available on nearly every corner in S. FL

Something like 80% of prescription opiates come from South FL. So, FL has a huge drug problem combine that with very easy access to guns...I dunno. There were no drugs or guns involved in this horrific story. Maybe its the humidity that makes people in S. FL so effin crazy.

    Also from the comments section:
When the police arrived at 1:30 a.m. they said everybody at the party was completely hammered.
