You're singing our song from 2000. You'll learn as we learned, win or lose, expectations with a bunch of free agents count for nothing.

Albert Haynesworth came to us for less money than the Bucs offered him. We'll see how your guys works out.

You should have seen here last season, Eagles fans crowing about their "greatness" and "bow down". And you still haven't done anything yet.

The main thing TO and Kearse did was bring a swagger to Philly. They went out that year knowing they were going to destroy people, and they did. If TO didn't break his leg, I think we all know the WRs that Belicheck had playing CB would have had a tough time keeping him from dominating the game; he dominated it on one leg regardless.

I hope the new swagger leads to the same results this year.

Kearse in no way contributed as he was expected. He was a bust acquisition.

    Eagle fan revisionism.

As for TO, we know how positive an effect he was after the SB year...

There are only two suitable similarities between 2000 skins and 2011 Eagles:

    1) They both signed free agents.
    2) Both FA QBs were/are head cases.

Skins free agents were all at the very end of their careers (Smith was 37, Sanders was 33, Carrier was 32) and could never be considered to be in the prime of their careers.

WRT to Eagle signings, Babin played for them the year prior, and in hindsight was good enough to stay with the team. Unless they signed TO to play RCB, they could not have done worse there. Jenkins was the one major question mark I had as he's had injury issues and is "old". NA was/is a no-brainer.

That's true. But I know I, as an Eagle fan, saw the fatal flaws in the team that Vick/Desean/Lesean/Maclin were not going to be able to overcome to go deep into the playoffs (ease with which they gave up passing TDs, 7th round rookies playing key roles on defense, RCB, slowing down of pass rush and right side of the OL).

JK definitely did contribute in the 2004 season. Eagles were either 1st or 2nd in sacks that season. I'll agree he (and obviously TO) sucked after that year, but he definitely helped them get to the SB.

I was going to add, 7.5 sacks for Kearse is a terrible season. Good thing the rest of your team picked up the slack.
