Welcome Back David Young, and thank you for your service.

Their team was being bludgeoned by the Philadelphia Eagles, and this hardly was any consolation.

But in Sgt. 1st Class David Young’s tent on Forward Operating Base Walton, the tent with the satellite TV hookup, the crowd went nuts.

“They were like, ‘Your brother scored! Your brother scored!’” Sgt. Young recalled Saturday. “I was like, ‘My brother?’ They showed the instant replay, and I was like, ‘Oh my God! My brother scored!’ “

    Great find c4, appreciate that.

Even without a reliable quarterback throwing the ball, #Redskins WR Jabar Gaffney could be a breakout star in 2011. http://www.homermcfanboy.com/2011/08...breakout-star/

Redskins release first depth unofficial depth chart with Rex as the top QB. Beck is listed second.

    ...fyi Clemens is 3rd

    granthpaulsen Grant Paulsen
#Redskins release game-notes for FRI night. First depth chart: Grossman, Hightower, Young, Moss, Gaffney, Cooley at first-team skill spots

    Rich_Campbell Rich Campbell
The depth chart was released in advance of Friday's game, so it's quite possible that Beck's injury factored into his ranking.

Well at least Grossman has experience playing for the Skins and has run this offense. I think the team needs some consistency at this point from a vet. Even if he is not the long term answer I think he gives us a better chance to win.

#Redskins first depth chart: Grossman first, Beck second. What does it mean? Nothing. Games will decide the job.

FWIW, #Redskins QB John Beck was 20-39 for 235 yards, with 0 TDs, 1 INT, 1 Fumble and a 59.2 QB rating in three preseason games last year.

Ryan Torain is listed last among RBs because of his injury. Mo Hurt is ahead of Selvish Capers at guard. And... Nick Sundberg is 1st at LS.

I had a feeling all along that Grossman was always going to be the starter here and that the whole Beck saga was to make him shut up and sign an ordinary contract. While this is just the beginning of the depth chart coming into focus, and Shanahan showed us last year it can change considerably as the preseason goes on, I think it's a strong enough indication that was the plan all along.

By the way, gotta love the 3 guys up front on our Dline: Bowen, Cofield and Carriker. With Jenkins, Golston, Bryant and Neild providing a nice rotation I think we just turned a weakness last year into a strength.
