Eli Manning sees himself on Tom Brady’s level

No quarterback gets to the NFL without being confident in themselves, but I didn't figure Eli Manning(notes) for a guy with this kind of confidence. The irrational, delusional kind, that is.
Michael Kay of ESPN New York 1050 asked Eli on Tuesday if he was in the same class as Tom Brady. Eli hesitated for a second, and then answered in the affirmative.
"I consider myself in that class and Tom Brady(notes) is a great quarterback, he's a great player and what you've seen with him is he's gotten better every year and he started off winning championships and I think he's a better quarterback now than what he was, in all honesty, when he was winning those championships."
    Ummmm........ Well you see......... Maybe.......

Romo is the next Aaron Rodgers, Eli is the next Tom Brady, I guess now we'll start hearing how Vick is the next Steve Young.

    LMAO.

Oh Elijah, its good to have confidence, but you've taken it a step too far.

Didn't think I'd hear worse than Carlos' "I'm on Nnamdi's level" but ol' #10 raises the bar.

If I was in the same situation, I can't say I wouldn't have said what he said, but since I am not, all I can do is laugh.

During the lockout that was a topic on 1st and 10 I think. If not then most likely NFL Live when they put Vick style of play up there with Steve Young. Well after doing some quick research Philly OC Marty Mornhinweg who was Steve Young OC for 3 seasons said Vick can be better than Steve Young.

Oh and Eli did beat him in the big game so he has that over him...

The last time they met Eli did outplay him, but he's got a long way to go in terms of consistency before he's on Brady's level.

Must have been this Eli talking.

Too bad there isn't a penalty for excessive underachievement. The Cowboys would be flagged. (Clayton)

    1. That first throw was into triple coverage. Stupid throw.
    2. Bradshaw can't catch, but the pass was slightly high. High passes = going to end up in the air for anyone to catch.
    3. Same thing as #2, but Barden's 6'6". Terrible accuracy.
    4. Into triple coverage. Not smart.
    5. Was a fluke.
    6. TERRIBLE decision. I don't care if it was tipped. Ball should've never been thrown.
    7. Another bad decision. Rolling left when you're a right hand QB and getting chased...lol...Not good.
    8. Was an underthrown pass.
    9. Too high of a pass. Smith had to jump, off the hands, in the air, pick. (there's a theme here.)
    10. See #9.
    11. Got rushed, threw it way behind the receiver. Pick. Bad decision.
    12. Great defensive play. I would say bad decision, but that was a timing play. He was in man to man. He should've audibled to a fade.
    13. Meh. Good defensive play. He should've seen the safety right there where he was throwing the ball.
    14. Great defensive play. Asante owns Eli.
    15. Terrible throw into double coverage. Got tipped, picked.
    16. Underthrown pass.
    17. Terrible decision. Didn't even look before he threw the ball.
    18. Good defensive play. Bad accuracy. Nicks had the DB beat, and if Eli put it out in front of Nicks, it might've been a big gain or even a TD.
    19. Bad throw/ Good D. He waited too long. You don't wait that long on a slant (it looked like a slant, maybe an in route, either way, too late of a throw)
    20. D-linemen tipped the pass. Not on Eli.
    21. Just a terrible throw.
    22. Another bad throw. A flag route into double coverage? C'mon, Eli.
    23. Underthrown and into double coverage. Bad pass.
    24. TERRIBLE decision. WTF was he thinking? Seriously? Lol.
    25. Looks like the pass was SLIGHTLY behind him, but Manningham should've caught the pass. Not really on Eli.

So as we all see, even though they're tipped, they're still bad decisions on Eli. Into too good of coverage, forcing the ball, or terrible ball placement (why most of the INTs that were tipped were because the pass was too high.)
