I'm kind of bewildered, help me out here....the Tea party is up in arms about an alleged recent comment from vice president Joe Biden - supposedly, he called the tea party "terrorists."

    Are you kidding me?

I only say that because of a complete lack of accountability from the tea party itself. Seriously, they say more outrageous crap on a daily basses, than Eddie Murphy hitting his thumb with a hammer!

Look - I didn't make this stuff up people...I could not have said anything this offensive OR funny!

“He has no place in any station of government and we need to realize that he is an enemy of humanity,” said Rep. Trent Franks about Obama.

“The exact phrase ’separation of Church and State’ came out of Adolph Hitler’s mouth, that’s where it comes from. So the next time your liberal friends talk about the separation of Church and State, ask them why they’re Nazis.” Glen Urquhart said.

“The the greatest threat to America is not necessarily a recession or even another terrorist attack. The greatest threat to America is a liberal media bias,” said Rep. Lamar Smith.

“I hope that’s not where we’re going, but you know if this Congress keeps going the way it is, people are really looking toward those Second Amendment remedies and saying my goodness what can we do to turn this country around? I’ll tell you the first thing we need to do is take Harry Reid out.” — Nevada GOP Senate candidate Sharron Angle.

“Well, I don’t think that the Obama administration knows what’s Jesus, what belongs to Jesus and what belongs to them. That’s my big gripe. Apparently, he doesn’t know. But then, that’s because he’s not a Christian. He’s Muslim,” - Christine O’Donnell.

“It’s a proven fact he’s Muslim. He wasn’t born in this country. He was born in Kenya. There are people who know it, people who know where the birth certificate is. It’s locked up and our government can’t get a hold of it. He’s a illegitimate president, in my estimation.”
    -Christine O’Donnel

''Tea parties believe in small government. We believe in returning to the principles of our Founding Fathers. We respect them. We revere them. Shoot me in the head before I stop talking about the Founders. Shoot me in the head if you try to change our government. I will stand against you and so will millions of others. We believe in something. You in the media and most in Washington don't. The radicals that you and Washington have co-opted and brought in wearing sheep's clothing -- change the pose. You will get the ends. You've been using them? They believe in communism. They believe and have called for a revolution. You're going to have to shoot them in the head. But warning, they may shoot you.''
    —Glenn Beck

''You got to have an enemy to fight. And when you have an enemy to fight, then you can unite the entire world behind you, and you seize power. That was Hitler's plan. His enemy: the Jew. Al Gore's enemy, the U.N.'s enemy: global warming. Then you get the scientists — eugenics. You get the scientists — global warming. Then you have to discredit the scientists who say, 'That's not right.' And you must silence all dissenting voices. That's what Hitler did.''
—Glenn Beck, linking Al Gore's campaign against global warming to Hitler's campaign against the Jews, 'The Glenn Beck Program,' April 30, 2007

''I have been nervous about this interview with you because what I feel like saying is, 'Sir, prove to me that you are not working with our enemies. ... And I know you're not. I'm not accusing you of being an enemy, but that's the way I feel, and I think a lot of Americans will feel that way.''
—Glenn Beck, interviewing Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN), the first Muslim U.S. congressman, Glenn Beck's show on CNN's Headline News, Nov. 14, 2006

    Dear Joe Biden,

    Please apologize!

    Thanks,
    The Tea Party.

Whiny bitches.....though we should expect better from our chief executives than referring to US citizens as "terrorists" or "your enemy" over politics.

    Fwiw, I agree with you.

Though I wish the members of congress would show a little more respect towards the chief executive.

Wait, the other day when I said Rick Perry was a jackass for mouthing off about secession and treason, you said he was being "direct" and Obama was mealy mouthed. Does he not bear that same responsibility? Or do you find it acceptable when the message suites your taste and offensive when it does not?

True, if Biden said this he should be ashamed.

What he said was not really irresponsible as Governor or a candidate imo....different power and responsibilities.....though the treason one is close

Brave I agree....as I did in the you lie instance(especially in the formal settings),civility is lacking
I'm much more open to using rhetoric outside, though I do enjoy a masterful use of civilly slicing and dicing (I think that's why I like Jumbo and Techboy so much, some of theirs is a work of art )

First of all, nice OP poly. Love the douchebag quotes from the Tea Party you have rounded up here. Nice work!

    And then...

    ...wait, what?

Didn't the last president of this country basically run a campaign on those merits? "If you're not with us, you're un-American." type thing? I surely remember something like that. Because if you aren't for the war, you aren't for what's best for America, you aren't for the safety and success of our soldiers. Oh, and let us remind you, those soldiers are dying over there for you bastard liberals who are against America.

    Sounds about right to me.

Ah, I've got it wrong. Biden shouldn't have called the Tea Party terrorists, just another political gaffe of his. What he should of said was, "Hey, we aren't the terrorists." [when referring to the Tea Party]. That way he would assert that the democrats weren't the terrorists, therefore the Tea Party must be the terrorists. That's how you do it.

Because really, in the political frame of things, the Tea Party is a terrorist group.

PS: I have no idea if the facts in the OP are even factual because there is no link... and I know Polywog's history in these parts.

Responsible use of power to effect needed change to prevent harm to the country in their view(one I agree with, and a responsibility to those that elected them to change things)

But then you had no trouble assigning the terrorist label to a lawful exercise of power did you?

Springfields....is their not a difference between a persons definition of American and terrorist or enemy?...I do agree W or Cheney were out of line if they stated that being American was conditional upon support.

There is certainly a excess of rhetoric in campaigning(and will continue to get worse),something that will remain w/o major restructuring of election law.
I would prefer candidates be limited to simply issuing position papers and a bio with their record, combined with mandatory televised debates/speeches, and publishing the aforementioned papers to be the sole campaigning allowed (though I guess going door to door might be allowed with the option of slamming the door in their face of course)

The thing that should piss off people on the right is that they say this without at all acknowledging some of the things they've said..
Once again, they think you're too stupid to notice or too ignorant to care.

They know their supporters will back them right or wrong, and this only proves it further.
They have no respect for your intelligence, and unfortunately, people continually give them good reason NOT to respect it.

So call them on it. If you've got the balls.

The shocking part, is this is the first thing Biden has said to really piss anybody off since becoming VP. That is truly amazing.

There is certainly a difference. But the term terrorist is thrown around so loosely these days, it really loses the impact it used to have. It's like the word socialist, a fun word the Tea Party likes to use to describe our president. If the Tea Party can call the president a socialist, why can't people call the Tea Party terrorists?
