Goaldeje <sigh>, first, I didn't ban SS. After having a wonderful day elsewhere , I did PM him just a bit ago in response to his "farewell" PM to me. There are people here who know me pretty well, and know the nature of my life and some of my history, and when they read about you "pitying" me and some of your other comments, (which are stunningly pretentious among other things) there will be the laughs of course, but it also it really makes you looks so very (and in such unnecessary manner) shaky in your own grasp on things that you would come up with such stuff in such a circumstance (if you can even get what I'm saying).

However, I am not going to rebut your claims in any detail (even that crazy "illegal" stuff re: HH whatever your thinking), and yes I do,as often stated, review my conduct (as do others). I'm good with whatever you come to feel about whatever "truths" you've been told. Just as a general note, since I'm not invested enough to want to do it in this case, you should seek hearing some "other sides" of what are likely relevant matters on such stuff (if it really mattered) in service to making a sound judgment.


While in reality I am hardly the focal point some banned members may think i am, I will restate something I said in elsewhere recently, that applies to this topic, about my own posting, or interaction, style as mod or member, just for the hell of it. That's right---this next part is all about me!!

First, my posting "style" is very diverse, from very lengthy to very brief and everything in between, and from very silly to very serious and everything in between. Most of what i post is actually humor or football, but I do share in the tailgate action a fair amount.

I have the full range of human behavior at my disposal and can do any of it fairly competently, from helpful and kind to harsh and blunt, from detached to invested, for example. I am obviously familiar (being somewhat intelligent) with ideas like "taking the high road" or "rising above it" or "acting nice" all the time, even in an unpaid role as a message board mod (for instance).

And while funny and friendly are my default "personality" positions, I often find those other concepts on "how to act" to be often misplaced, nonproductive, or having other undesirable results, pragmatically and philosophically.

One way I have come to phrase things is "I reserve the right to meet you on the same ground you extend to me, or in any manner I find your actions merit."

What I mean by that is I make very conscious choices, comfortably, with whether I think i should be "nice" or "not nice" in any situation of note. I don't just say "it's better if I'm nice, no matter what."

I am very comfortable in being kind, caring, and helpful or firm, assertive, and challenging, or even rude, crude, sarcastic, scathing, etc, if I deem it appropriate.

This has developed, of course, through my life, including two successful careers that involve extensive accountability and peer review of performance in all facets, and having been solicited/promoted to take leadership/management/executive roles everywhere I show up (including here and in most every volunteer capacity in every community all my life).

I take no "ego boost" from any of that or "feel the power" over it, it's just reporting what's happened. But neither am I the least bit shy to confront anyone any time at any level if proper in my call---physical, verbal, or in text. No "internet tough guy" posturing. That's just how it is, as a couple people here know well. Success in my current career is in a "helping profession" and greatly depends on addressing the client's interests and completely detaching from any negative-reaction personal component on my end in any matter that arises.

I do tend to be very nice and helpful "by nature", but in this venue for sure, if you're an *******, or willfully stupid and "loud" about it, or gratuitously dickish in any way, to me or another member, or just on some relevant matter, I may quite readily put it right back in your face.

Many, many posters here, over many years, with all kinds of opinions and demographics, have had many interactions with me, including receiving mod penalties, and it's gone splendidly. I appreciate all the support I receive from them, from my fellow mods, and from so many of our intelligent and informed membership. Make no mistake, for all that I am certainly flawed.

Oh, and BigMike619 (who was never perma-banned though more then merited it), it seems you have much of your view of me conflated with aspects of yourself (mainly the resentment-holding grudge-clinging ***** stuff). In my field we call that "projection." Someday, you and your like-minded fellows really should move on with your life. Really. Giving way so much free rent in your head to people who never think of you unless someone else brings you up has no upside. Enjoy what you have, amigo, and write me off as some unpleasant "internet experiecne." I wouldn't change any action I took in most of these matters, but i really wish you (or any of your "group"), nothing but the best, honestly.

Excellent insight Ghost. I, for one, moved on years ago, but felt no animus at all to anyone here. It just got too big, I never really had any close friends here, so it was an easy break. I made good friends elsewhere, life moves on.

I will say that seeing Jumbo act like an ass to some of those new-found friends is upsetting. Jumbo, I actually came on here intending to deliver a scathing attack on your insecurities, instead, I feel a great of pity towards you. Genuine pity. Sometime, you should consider going through this thread and re-reading both the original posts and then your responses to them. Were some responses merited? Perhaps. Others definitely not so. Considering you banned SS for his comment, I am sure the fact that I mentioned you by name will get me banned; so be it. I would respectfully request it be permanent if at all possible. The way you handled HH a couple of months ago was borderline illegal, not to mention disgusting; your responses here are disgraceful. Zoony has already stuck up for you once, which is disappointing in itself. I remembered Zoony fondly from when I was here more often, apparently things have changed. .

For the record, I was just typing what I thought. And if you remember me fondly and that post came as a surprise to you, I think you didn't know me much at all.

As for the recent drive-by posts from long ago members, I find the entire thing a bit interesting. People don't post for 5 years and then come on this site to take shots at Jumbo. Do you suppose there might be a slight mental health thing going on? I mean, it really is scary stuff.
