What a disaster that draft was.
Yea, who ever would have thought the Davis would have been the best pick.

What i would do to get those 3 picks back.

He's been bashed non-stop for his injury issues and there's no reason to believe he did it to himself. Both Zorn and Mike have stated he was as hard a worker as any guy on the team, and wanted to be a Redskin. That's why Mike kept him on the team last year even after the mistake he made by practicing and re-aggravating his injury. Sometimes we fans need to understand these guys are humans, they're not just football players that exist solely for our entertainment.

His body couldn't handle the rigours of the NFL. That's not his fault, he tried. Let's stop murdering his character for it and insulting his manhood

    Great post.

In Lavar's mind he will always have 6.5 million reasons to hate on the Skins.

All Malcolm is upset about is that the team said he was healthy enough to play and he felt that he wasn't.

What could possibly be the "real" reason. If he could play, he'd have been playing. If he's not healthy enough to play, then he deserved to finally get cut. Now, last year I believe the team mishandled the situation, which basically cost him the season. But that's got nothing to do with this year.

Perhaps. I think he's mostly just trying to be edgy. If he were always negative about the Skins, I'd say he has an axe to grind, but I think he's simply trying to establish an on-air identity.

I think I'm the "other poster" Cali was talking about, maybe. I had said Kelly didn't get an injury settlement, and he hasn't. You are correct that he's on "waived injured" status, but what the WP says that means, and what your link says that means are slightly different:

"The exact term for Kelly’s release is “waived injured.” Under collective bargaining agreement rules, Kelly — as a player released while injured — would be added to an injured reserve list if he clears waivers, as expected. Once Kelly is physically sound in the judgement of team physicians, he would be released."

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...1FqJ_blog.html

In Malcolm's case, I think the team believes his sore foot will be good enough to obtain another job in a week or less, where-in an injury settlement might cost more than just holding onto him until he says "I'm good".

Normally, I believe a team reaches an injury settlement and THEN waives the player. In Malcolm's case, the injury may not have been large enough (or diagnosable enough) to be considered for a settlement, and they might just be willing to wait and see if: 1. The doctors can figure out what the **** is going on, or 2. Kelly ever gets better, though if he continues to say "my foot is sore", and they can't find any proof that his foot is injured in any way after running an enormous amount of neurological tests (since the physical testing hasn't shown any results) then it will turn into a legal issue and it could drag on longer.

I doubt it does, but if Malcolm continues to say he's hurt and the doctors can't find any reason for it (not to say either group is wrong or right), then that will probably be the road. And the injury settlement will be based on someone finding out what's going on with his "sore foot".

    That's my best guess.

Man, some of ya'll are real sweethearts. People get hit with uncontrollable, unwanted health or medical issues all the time... even professional athletes. His body hasn't been durable enough. That's all. Some of you make it sound as though he's asked for this. Now if it comes out that he self-inflicted a Nancy Kerrigan, I'll change my tune. But that seems pretty damn silly.

A close friend of mine was fairly recently diagnosed with multiple sclerosis... Guess I should berate her and constantly point out how completely useless she is? Oh, you fell down the stairs again? Idiot. Jeez, what a ****ing stupid ***** for having it.

Hmmm.... I'll wait and see what he "reveals in a few days" before I go too hard on him. Who knows, he may be waiting for test results/ second opinion on some degenerative bone disease.

Seems like it's always the teams or coaches fault and not the players fault.

I would presume its what Chris Russell from the other radio station, 980, says like a broken record about Kelly which is he's furious that they stashed him on injured reserved last year, and Kelly thinks its wasn't right considering he was healthy from about game 3 on. So I'd guess its a combination of Kelly thinking they didn't properly go by the spirit of rules with how the injured reserved system should work -- meaning its not supposed to be used as a way to stash players away -- and Kelly could have shown the NFL he could play last year, etc.
