    Default I hate comcast!!!

    So I just moved to a new city and of course the only option for cable was Comcast. I used to be a Comcast customer and vowed to never again use them (even filed a complaint with the BBB and they ruled in my favor). So this is what is going on now:

    I ordered a package online and was then directed to finalize the purchase with an online agent. I made sure to download a version of the chat transcript in case any problems came up since I never trust Comcast.

    So a month after I move I get my bill and it is $20 more than what I was guaranteed the price would be! I proceed to call Comcast and tell them the situation, they say this is a price issue and I am issued a ticket number with an agent and that person will call me back to resolve the issue, I was not happy but OK.

    Ten days pass and no call back from Comcast so I give them a call today, the agent apologizes for nobody calling me back and transfers me to a supervisor. The supervisor says hello what can I do for you, I tell him the issue and then he hangs up on me!

    I call back, talk to another agent, ask for a supervisor she says they are all busy. So I talk to her tell her again that I am being overcharged and she says oh you were issued the wrong ticket we need to issue you a new one and they will call you back in a week. Of course by then if I don't pay my bill I will be assessed a late charge so I say no way in hell am I paying this bill, I am being overcharged $20. I demand to talk to a supervisor and she says they are all busy, this goes on for 45 minutes and then she hangs up on me! I am so ****ing done with this bull**** how are they allowed to treat their customers like this! If you miss a payment by one day they sure as hell will hound you every day for their money but if they overcharge you it is impossible to get in contact with anyone who can help you.

    My new cable box was supposed to come in three weeks ago and I got it this Friday. Comcast is truly the worst.

    I won't defend Comcast but I never had issue with them from the 2 independent periods of time I had to use them for college

    don't you guys at least get the NFL Network? on Time Warner, we get same ****ty customer service, and no NFL Network that the rest of the country has.

    I feel the same about my Direct TV...beng nice to the satellite gods...but wait...weren't you the guy that said he liked to buck authority?? Sell-out!!!

    I have no problems with Comcast here near Annapolis. My friends just got so fed up with Verizon Fios billing practices that they switched back to Comcast

    Contact someone higher up

    If your first attempt at complaining fails, contact someone higher up in the company. If the salesperson can't help you, ask to speak to a supervisor or store manager, and then the owner or the company's headquarters.

    Don't hesitate to send complaint letters to the president, owner or executive offices. These officials should send your letter to the appropriate person, and may take steps to resolve the dispute promptly. Higher-level officials are often more sensitive to the firm's image, and more willing and able to exercise discretion in handling complaints. Larger companies often have "customer relations" or "consumer complaint" departments that you can contact for assistance.

    To get the name and address of the president or executive offices, call any office of the company and ask for that information. If the company refuses to provide these facts, address your envelope to the "President" and send it to any address you have for the firm. Consumer agencies often have lists of the addresses of major corporations; you may also be able to obtain such information at your library.

    Sometimes consumers find themselves up against a company that makes complaining very difficult. It may say, "the person you need to speak to is not in the office today, call back next week," or "leave your number and we will get back to you." This may be a sign that the company is stalling you. If you are not being treated seriously, it may be time to take your problem to a person higher up in the company, complain to a government agency or consider legal action.

    Contact government agencies

    Government agencies will not take on or settle your case, but some will contact the company to open up communication. For example, if you complain to the state public utilities commission about a telephone company, it might ask that company for an explanation of its position. A government banking agency might contact your bank to ask for its side of the story. District attorneys handle many cases that do not fall under the jurisdiction of any other government agency. Some district attorneys have units that offer consumer complaint mediation.

    No agency can force a business to settle an individual's complaint, but the government's interest in the case may convince the company to resolve the dispute. Businesses that ignore most complaining consumers often settle all cases that are sent to government agencies (or consumer groups or action lines).

    Government agencies can be excellent sources of information about consumer rights and the laws and regulations that companies must follow. If you are not sure whether a company has broken the law, call the appropriate government agency and ask for information about your rights.

    Many businesses are directly regulated by government agencies, such as a department of insurance or department of banking. These agencies receive complaints about the companies they regulate and investigate allegations that those businesses have violated the law. The agencies depend upon consumers to alert them to companies that are engaged in illegal practices. Even if the agency doesn't help you resolve your complaint, it might be able to use your case to stop an unfair business practice.

    If your complaint involves an out-of-state company, you may still be able to obtain assistance from government agencies in your state. You can also contact a federal government agency to complain about out-of-state firms.
