Right now, he's still our best corner and only proven turnover threat in the secondary.

This team does a lot of zero-blitzes, leaving Hall all by himself when sometimes he shouldn't be (like alone against Dez Bryant). Even then, our safety play was so horrid last year, it was even more difficult to hide Hall's weaknesses. I like the guy, and at this rate we aren't going to find anybody better before the seasons starts...

There is a reason his other teams didn't want him.

You know he got tripped up on that play, that's was the only real burn for the season from Hall.

That's tough because Oakland was asking him to focus on man like Asomugha and that isn't his strength. You can argue his best years were in Atlanta, and he's matured since they got fed up with him to trade him away for a second round draft pick.

I hope the Skins are looking at one of these small school prospects in the fourth round like Josh Norman, Trumaine Johnson, or Asa Jackson.

he is not our best...josh wilson proved last yr he was our best cb and it wasnt close...part of being a cb is keeping the opponent from catching the ball...hall plays so far off the ball and it seemed every big play last yr was on #23...and statistically hall is bottom 5 in the league as far as opponents thrown too/catch %

Going by the eyeball test, Hal had a poor year last year. He's a gambler who kept throwing snake eyes. If his gambles never pay off then he's just bad. I'm sure I'm overstating it, but I remember him letting us down a lot.

There's a reason Hall was put on opponents #1s more often then Wilson, but that's not to say he's light-years better then Wilson. Rodgers used to play off the ball all the time as well, went to the pro bowl his next year in SF because they put him up on WRs more. There's more to CB then just covering, and again, he was still left on a island more then I like.

Better pressure and Safety support, he'll have a better looking season this year. The dude is a year removed from a probowl year where he basicily won a couple games for us by himself (chicago is an example)...

I was just talking about the lack of aggressiveness when it comes to Haslett and this D. When he is aggressive it is simply a disguise with off the end "blitzing" with Rak and Kerrigan. I would like to see some more risk taking this year with our zone blitz. Tanard Jackson is still a viable turnover threat as well and with Raheem Morris coming in, a proven DB coach, I think he may reign in Hall, Jackson, Gomes and maybe even Barnes. HTTR!

See, to me DeAngelo Hall is very much like Asante Samuel. Both of them are quick, play on instincts and take risks, but Hall's tackling is better.

When you have a cornerback that plays for the ball and not the ball carrier, they are going to make spectacular plays sometimes, but also get burned other times.

To me the main difference is how the media covers the two cornerbacks. Hall has always been covered by the media as an overrated risk-taker who has average coverage skills, but play making ability.

When it comes to Asante Samuel, even though he tends to get burned very often, he gets covered as a good (not quite great) corner.

    It is really quite perplexing.

Him, our kicker, our QB, and our OL lost it. Meaning it was a team loss and not solely his fault.

I'm no huge fan of 23, but he did near single-handedly win 2 games for us that I can remember as well(T. Choice fumble/ Chicago 4 Int game).

I think the real change for Rodgers was getting his vision corrected and not so much anything else (supposedly something he was asked to do and refused to do while he was a Redskin). Re: Hall I think in addition to gambling he has streaks where he's just not in a good mental place ... makes mental errors.
