Vick bruises* right (non-throwing) hand, Eagles lose to Giants 29-16 at home after leading 16-14, in a game they were favored by up to 10 points. Eagles fall to 1-2.

    Igglephans.com, thread "Waste of money":

The new Eagles look like the old Redskins.
filled with busty high draft picks, mediocre late-rounders, and high priced 30something free agents. I hope it all works out, but they finally went "all in" and it's snake eyes so far.
But we won the offseason UFA bonanza!
Exactly, this **** is ****ing stupid.. Watching soft ass Vick come in and out of every game is just ridiculous.. I like the guy, but he is not going to get it done for this team even when he is healthy... Which he NEVER is.. **** GETS ****ING OLD... O and the defense is soft as ****... sickening.. GO JUAN!
luckily they can get out of all these deals next year, which I assume they will do. Except Asomughas deal but im still ok with that. Hope Vicks deal has an out. They gotta find a real QB somehow some way. Why cant a Tom Brady be hiding on our ****ing bench

Igglephans.com, thread "The $100 million mistake."

It really doesn't matter whether I was right or wrong when I said you can't give a scrambler who is going to be injured this much --that kind of contract. But it matters that this management was wrong because now we are stuck with 3 QBs that will never be in a SB while the only QB who at least might have a chance at a SB is in Arizona.
Agree totally, they structured the contract right though, they can get out of it after 2 years with not much of a hit. As far as Kolb goes, i don't think he is that good either...i doubt he is ever better than "slightly above average" so they need to draft another one early to groom cuz Kafka ain't the answer.
DREAM TEAM! Who's taking the reigns next week, could be any one of these guys they are the DREAM TEAM!

I was going to post an entire thread on this topic, and may do so as I have time.

Suffice it to say, the Eagles are massively overrated and have critical problems across the board. They have no center and no RG, unless you count the guy they picked up off waivers on Sept. 3 and who will START game 1 at RG!. Their OL coach was pulled out of retirement from the Colts, is 69 years old, and rides around on a scooter due to poor health. Vick is being hit every other drop-back. Their defensive coordinator is their failed OL coach, "promoted" to defensive coordinator.

They have 3 all-star CBs and no LBs, unless you count "Fredo" Matthews.

This is a team only Vinny could create, and he essentially did. The director of pro personnel (the guy who scouts the rest of the NFL) is Louis Riddick, who previously held the same position with the Redskins under Cerrato. He's a complete clown. That the Eagles have put him in such a position again, and allowed him to chase after star skill players while ignoring the OL and LBs, is classic Vinnyball.

Dream Team my ass. Karma's got #7 on speed dial.

*Updated from initial reports that Vick broke his hand.

I was thinking the same thing, how is what the Eagles did this off season, any different than what the Redskins used to do (thank goodness they don't anymore). I had a feeling they would crash and burn and if the Redskins win tomorrow night, the "Skins might be the favorites in the NFC East.

Tomorrow will be a golden opportunity for the Skins. They BETTER take advantage of it.

    Let the whining begin...

"Looking at the replays, I'm on the ground every time, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't frustrated," Vick said in his postgame news conference. "The refs have got to do their jobs. And I mentioned it to the refs in training camp when I talked to them. I'm on the ground constantly, all the time. Every time I throw the ball, I'm on the ground. And I don't know why I don't get the 15-yard flags like everybody else does."

Next up - chatter and rumors of locker room bickering between players. Too many high profile personalities.
I believe in the Redskins, therefore I'm the enemy.

Simple, NFL team raises and falls with the QB. Vick got hurt last week and this week. That's the main reason the Eagles lost both games. Same reason why Colts are in the Andrew Luck sweepstake.

It's a long season, but I thought they would come out of the gates in a more impressive fashion. They were already a good team before the offseason additions, this led me to believe they would do well this season. Just shows how important the QB position is. Vick's injuries have really hurt the rhythm of the offense and it's been late in games they were competing in. I understand they have other weaknesses that have hurt them, but Vick being in out of the lineup has been detrimental.

As a Skins fan, I am happy to see them struggle. This might just end up being a special year. Lets keep it going with a big win in Dallas.

You can add the play calling as well as one of the reasons the Eagles find a way to lose. Goal to go with Vick at QB and a suspect interior O Lime so what do you call? Something which moves Vick and gives him a run pass option on the perimeter? Apparently not, two FB dives and kick the FG.

Then as for the decision to go for it on 4th down - has Zorn started coaching the Eagles O?

    Been there, done that.

I suspected it would not work...just like it never did for us, but I wasn't sure. I'm starting to be sure.

am all in but I still have Zorn's 6-2 start in my head, that felt great too at the time, I want to see the movie play out some. But yeah love the idea of the Eagles faltering and they did take a very Danny like approach to the off season.

Vick is complaining about being mistreated? Seriously? He needs to keep his mouth shut about mistreatment. This is so funny I knew when the Eagles were signing all the big names they could and the media was saying juts give them the SB trophy now, this would happen, I just didn't think it would be week 3, LOL

There is a way to do it in regards to FAs. The 49ers did it perfectly back in the day. You ice the cake with them. The Eagles were believing their own hype about how good they were. They're not.

Wouldn't the reason he's not getting the flags is because he's outside of the pocket basically taking the role of a running back that can also throw? You can't have it both ways. Vick is famous for the pump fake throw and then takes off running down the field.

Redskins fans saw this coming from a mile away, because we've experienced it.

    Biggest NFCE threat

I posted this back in August.

I don't think the Eagles are as big of a threat. They acquired Asomugha but he's playing in a new defense. From what I've seen from a clip at Eagles training camp, he's not going to immediately make an impact. On offense, the Eagles are relying heavily on Michael Vick. He missed a few games last season. The Eagles were able to overcome Vick's absent with Kolb playing decent but they have Vince Young backing him up and he's trying to learn the offense as well
