It's well done and worth checking out and with it going into the 2nd season you won't have a lot of catching up to do. Showtime constantly has hit after hit.

Season 1 won the Emmy's for Best Drama, Lead Actor, & Lead Actress

It is a very good series.

Just behind Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones for for me but only one season. You'll really enjoy it.

Just catching up on last night's show...too frustrating... wanted to shoot up the tv when dude sends his warning message after being "last second" admitted into the com room with the live operational feed.....don't think i like so much of this "can you just believe it" scripting and these "last-minute" timing angles for dramatic events

The first episode of season two aired here last night. Been waiting for this one to return as the first season had me gripped. (Although I did think the 'failed switch/ phone call' ending was pretty lame and not in keeping with the excellent drama that lead upto it.).

Yet another major show in the US with English talent I know well from shows here in Brody and Estes, the CIA Director. The Brits rally are making a serious inroad into American TV over recent years with some major staring roles on big shows. Good to see hard working talent getting their major breaks.

    Hail.

Homeland is the best drama on tv right now. The writing is great, as is the acting. I wasn't a big fan of the phone incident either, but I can overlook it.

Yeh, it's still an top flight effort---but (and not to beat a dog) the same sort of "last minute" gimmick was HUGE last season when he gets the call from the daughter at exactly the right moment to allow for....a season two...

I just hope they avoid making that particular kind of credibility-stretching device a staple, in an otherwise "seriously realistic" show

Don't be surprised if they keep using that gimmick throughout the series. The producers are the same as those from 24, and 24 made 8 seasons of 24 episodes out of building tension into an "OMG IS THIS REALLY ABOUT TO HAPPEN" before finding some way to subvert the awesomeness of the moment.

And now, in case some are reading that haven't seen the show and don't want to know what happened this week...

    SPOILER ALERT:

The phone gimmick strained credibility for the second time in as many seasons primarily because I seriously doubt cell coverage is that great in a secured bunker location in the pentagon on an effing civilian Blackberry.

That said, things should get serious here now that Saul has seen the Brody video. However, I'm sure some way is going to be found to lose the video before it's seen by the higher-ups, whether it's stolen, Saul doesn't tell anybody about it and goes into a coma, or something of that nature. It will be just enough for Saul (and ONLY Saul) to know that Carrie wasn't wrong about Brody.

What was hoakie about that call was of coarse if you were actually in a secure facility you would not be able to have a cell phone on you unless it was governemnt issued SME/PED.
That a congresman would have a cell phone violates believability laws. But I went with it. I loved last season, and really like this season so far as it seems they are starting strong right out of the gate.

As for Best show on TV... I really like Son's of Anarchy.. I think this is a close second, with boardwalk empire and dexter close behind them. Any given week any of these welll done series can impress. Homeland had a strong premier though.

That was quite frustrating Jumbo. I just watched it this morning on the DVR and I was thinking, really??? Its not that I don't like shocks at the end of each episode, but to me that was a little crazy. I mean, the actual shocker at the end happened, they could have done without Brady doing the text message to save the dude.

That aside, I like the show a ton, but honestly I think this season is off to a slow start, Im not as into it as Season 1. I'm getting a little tired of this Carrie is crazy crap and her meds and what not. Hopefully, it gets better. Dont get me wrong, its still solid, but after season 1, I expect better on every episode in season 2.

At the beginning of this week's show, I was pleased to see that the video of Brody wasn't stolen/lost/whatever as I'd predicted it would be last week. (I was facepalming at the time, though. "YOU CANNOT TELL ME THEY ARE DOING THIS AGAIN." lol)

Such a well-done show, though. Claire Daines is going to win every best actress emmy for the next 5 years if this show keeps going that long.

I've been behind on this show and just caught up, so couldn't come into the thread before now. Glad y'all are keeping up with it as well. Definitely one of my favorite shows on tv. Fastest hour of television since Lost, it makes me want to yell at the tv every time an episode ends.

not slow anymore. Good lord! (although I didn't really think they were that slow to start)

They've already surprised me a few times with the directions they've taken the episodes. ANd we're only 4 eps into the season.

I just watched the most recent episode. Really did not see that ending coming. Totally changes the direction of the season. Can't wait for Sunday...

    Great episode, agree with bc.

For the second time recently in one of these tv show threads, I have to nitpick on the same matter---I like Clair Danes and all, but her regular "face-making" (including those "make my eyes big" expressions---I think she's wearing xtra-large-dark-pupil lenses lol), even though it's well-suited to her character's temp psych condition and meds, is annoying (distracting). But I can live with it.
