Default Root Against the Colts So Peyton Manning Can Be a Redskin

Yeah it's the bye week and yeah this is just my personal dream scenerio, but it's not THAT far-fetched, right?

--Colts have worst record in league and get first pick

--Luck is the clear #1 pick pretty much regardless of who winds up with the pick

--The Colts are done. Peyton will not make them a championship caliber team--- he will make them a playoff caliber team, but nothing more. Polian has been around and deep down, knows this.

--Colts decide to put the rebuild process into hyper-mode and take Luck and trade Manning

--Price will be steep. Two firsts, at least one second, and several filler picks in the middle rounds

If this was the situation and let's say the Redskins went 9-7 this year; DC would make as much sense ofna destination for Peyton as anywhere...

Book it; Peyton Manning; starting QB, Washington Redskins, 2012

I don't see this happening at all...

RIP Blake Fomby... You will be missed... Love you brother. Hope they keep the roof open at Cowboys Stadium so you can still watch them from up there...

    Can't........tell.......if.........joking.
“Hey, about an hour ago, all right, their [defensive] coordinator [Juan Castillo] told us, told [offensive line coach Chris] Foerster, that [if] the Giants would have lost last week, they were in the playoffs,” Kyle Shanahan said. “He didn’t mention that they had to beat us today. **** him, **** these guys. In 2012 the Redskins are gonna be the NFC East champions, and that starts right ****ing today.”

That would be an astronomically high risk proposition. I think the Colts would be more likely to give up the #1 overall pick for a boatload of other picks than give up Peyton if they actually expect him to return to football, anyway. You'd certainly have to be very wary of any willingness on their part to get rid of a guy who has meant that much to the franchise.

A QB with a a neck injury. For two firsts, and, well let's face it, a Mike "CRAZEE-DEALS" Ditka like offering of OUR entire draft.

    You're mad.

Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. Nevermind that the bootleg is a staple of this offense and Manning doesn't do that.

    A few things:

    1. This is certainy somewhat tongue-in-cheek and meant to be a little entertaining bye week convo

    2. Sports talk is all about hypotheticals and this is obviously extremely hypothetical.

    3. To even begin this disussion, yes, his neck would have to be 100% cleared. So that's a given. He's cleared to play and no limitations are expected.

    4. Manning is a machine in terms of preparation. I could see him pulling a Favre and playing at a high level deep into his 30's and even early 40's.

    5. The Redskins would only be players for Manning of this season went well, but we were clearly held back by our QB. The kind of season where wengo 9-7, but you think, "damn with a good Qb, this team is 12-4."

    6. If the above applied, I'd be willing to roll the dice and risk the future for a 2-3 year run with Peyton. I'm confident now in Shanny and Allen to help fortify other areas via FA and whatever picks we would have leftover.

    7. So yes, please suck for Luck.. It's just not us that I want doing the sucking.

If Peyton Manning is in Redskin uniform next year...nevermind. Will never happen.

Any one of the top 5 QB's from the 2012 draft would be a better prospect for us than an already regressing Manning.

    And in reality, there won't be that many teams looking for a QB in the first round this year. I reckon it'll be these teams;

    Indianapolis
    Miami
    Seattle
    Minnesota
    Washington
    Cleveland (maybe)

lol. I get it. Bradford talk. I mean really, why not root for the Packers to be awful so we can get Rodgers, or maybe the Falcons crash and Ryan comes to town. After all, whoever has #1 has to get Luck lol

the Peyton idea's funny, but I really think the Bradford one's at least a little less crazy. It's the Rams, I'm not shocked if they make that move, unless I missed something about how brilliant their front office/GM is.

Definitely don't want the Skins involved in any scenario like this. Don't want to see their name all over the headlines, etc. It's all up to Mr. Shanny where the QB road goes.

The obvious omission here is San Francisco.

And with Minnesota, ya never know. I look for Ponder to be the starter here in a couple of weeks. So you would have to wait and see how he does there, before seeing if they would go QB again in first round. And I have doubts that the Browns would draft another QB that high. McCoy seems to be getting better.
