Droid Razr smartphone makes its debut with a host of new services (suck it hipsters!!!)

Motorola and Verizon Wireless jointly announced a new smartphone called the Motorola Droid Razr on Tuesday at a press event in New York. The two companies bill the phone as the thinnest ever at 7.1 millimeters, with a dual core processor and Super AMOLED screen.
The Droid Razr has a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM behind a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display. The phone measures 7.1 millimeters thick, save the usual Droid chin on the end holding the rear 8-megapixel camera, where it measures a couple of millimeters thicker. Motorola estimates the battery life at 12.5 hours of talk time over 3G and 8.9 hours of video playback.
Sanjay Jha, CEO of Motorola Mobility, said that the specs were standouts for the class, but "to create the best smartphone, we had to add one more thing". That one more thing is access to Verizon's 4G LTE network, which is expected to roll out on a large scale over the next six months.

Regardless, this seems like roughly the same as the Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Nexus except the question is will it have vanilla Android. I was really looking forward to the Nexus having a 1.5 Ghz dual-core. Sigh.

Meh, it's another smartphone. Not sure why so many people got so worked up about this subject.

IMO, having an internet argument over smartphones is like comparing dick sizes in the locker room shower.

It may seem like a big deal to the two of you, but to the rest of us who walk in on the discussion, it looks kind of weird.

FWIW, I still don't see the appeal of 4G in 99% of situations. Only reason it would be useful for me is for high quality streaming of my Slingbox from home - which would be awesome.

However, since there is no longer unlimited data - this would just cause me to eat up all of my data allowance at an even quicker rate.

I have had an HTC EVO for a while now. It does everything that I want it to do. It is so everyday functional that I don't even think about getting anything new.

Am I missing something? Should I be looking at this new stuff? Or waste of $$?

I've heard this a few times, I just don't get it - but I guess some people prefer more customization and what not than I do.

I really have no complaints about my iPhone 4S, except the rare occasion where the Verizon network pisses me off.

I agree. I think the iPhone is a great phone myself. Just ridiculous how some people imply it's the only good phone on the market.

Trust me, it wasn't just the Verizon network...I had it with AT&T...it was aweful. It would drop calls (others with AT&T around me had no issues), the touch screen was more problems then it was worth. The Apps were nothing special. Just didn't like it at all. I had a Droid as well at the same time (1 was a work phone the other my personal phone) and the Droid was head and shoulders above IMO.

This is exactly whats wrong withthe u.s..we have feel to want every phone that comes out, all we do is want want want lol. 1 in every 4 commercials are new phones. Atleast thats how i feel. And its not just about phones. It comes down to everything. Every other commercial is either a food, beer or car commercial.
