The RAZR does look pretty sweet. If this gets ICS, I think I would prefer this to the Galaxy Nexus.
As far as the iPhone vs Droid debate that goes on in everyone of these threads, here's the easy way to solve it:
If you just want your phone to work right out of the box and aren't worried about customzing much, then get an iPhone.
If you want to be able to customize and tweak your phone to your liking, then get a Droid.
And to all the people that insist the iPhone is the best phone out there, well, I feel sorry for you.
If people don't preface those types of comments with "best for me" or "in my opinion" I don't even read the rest. I don't care if you're talking about an 8 core super droid phone or the original iPhone.
"best" is such a terrible word to use when describing a computer system, which all these phones are.
All these things are implied opinions, not facts. Best is as you said, whatever fits your needs so you don't have to take these posts so seriously.

This is correct on 80 levels.

I am still lost on the title. What does the iphone have to do with hipsters?![]()

I got a RAZR after Christmas. My first one just started turning on and off in rapid succession and I had to get a new one. The 2nd one works perfectly.
I don't use a lot of apps. One I do use with my granddaughter is Skype. When you go to get the app, which is free, get the non-Verizon app. With this app you can use the front camera so people can see you. The Verizon app doesn't let you do that. I also have the Norton anti-theft app that goes with Norton Anti-theft subscription and it protects both my laptop and RAZR.
I like the fact that I can get Visual Voice Mail ($2.99 per month) but I like the option of deleting voicemails without listening to them. I also like the Smart Actions and when you start using the phone, it will recommend some for you, like battery saver or night saver.
I'm not a big app user, so hopefully some others will chime in.
Also, I use a bluetooth set in the car and that works well. I use it in manual mode rather than setting up a Smart Action for it.
I used to despise Apple devotees. Then, I bought an iPod and loved it. Then, I bought an MacBook Pro and loved it. Then, I bought I an iPhone and loved it. Then, I bought an iPad and loved it. Apple products blow other products out of the water when it comes to ease of use, customer service, and, most importantly, reliability. Perhaps the iPhone 4S isn't as "customizable" as a Droid Razr, but I doubt it could top the iPhone 4S in terms of reliability.
Have a droid smartphone now, with unlimited data plan and more apps than I'll have time to play with.
I like leapfrogging at least every other buying craze, so unless something happens to my phone, I won't be getting a Razr or newest homage to Mr. Cool Steve Jobs.
I'll probably be on the NEXT wave though, when everybody's saying "This makes the current iPhone and Razrs look like crap!". What, a couple years from now?
Just got my first non-work related smart phone, an LG Enlighten. I'm hearing good and bad things about it now that i've got it, but don't really care at this point, as i don't mind having something kind of clunky (compartively to a 4G, or Iphone, etc..). Have learned alot over the last week or two about what the hell this thing can actually do, and its pretty damn impressive what constitutes as your "phone" now. Looking forward to wandering around thru as many old threads as possible to try and gather some intel as to how we got to where we are today and how I might possibly be able to make some minor "tweaks" to really take full advantage of its capabilities.
I'm about to wade into the smartphone (yes, I'm the luddite in chief) era . . . what does customizing a smartphone actually mean? Not sure why I want to do that. Also, my work-life is pretty Apple/Mac centric... should this influence my choice at all? Right now it's between an iPhone 5 or a Motorola Droid. Looking for feedback.
