    True

Edit: Ehh, maybe not 90%, but certainly 50%. But I still contend that a manufacturing base is important.

I am a truth guy. Obama and Romney represent the antithesis of truth.

For what it's worth I though the Ron Paul people should've been allowed to have their voice at the RNC, but you know...politics.

It didn't concern me, these things are scripts. Paul has his own flaws which are fairly significant. So I no longer like to say I am a Paul guy, but more so a real change and ideas guy.

Obama 1 was Bush's 3rd term. I shudder to think what term 2 will bring. Romney will be more of the same.

I have always thought the "Obama has never been a success" theme was pretty silly. How is going from humble beginnings to being successful at Harvard Law and becoming president of the United States not being successful, whatever you think of his administration. Wow.

I can imagine being on a trip and telling some merchant in Spain, "Oh, our president? He's never been a success." Dude would be like "whaaaaattt?"

I won't count the fact that "family values" wise, he's been a successful husband and father.

SHF, I agree with you, again. Right now, I'll write in someone.

Oaky, so you've basicaly lost faith in the whole damn thing. That makes more sense...

I simply don't see how anyone, besides some strange perverse "go team" mentality, has any faith in either candidate. It is a laughable show put on by the biggest banks and corporations in the world who have donated heavily to both campaigns

Actually, what he is and has been for a long time, is an extremely smart and accomplished guy who has never stopped exploring situations intelligently and has never just lined up to pigeonhole himself into any one party for eternity. You should cool your jets, sometimes, hotshot. You're a smart guy too, and a quick learner, but you overshoot the runway often enough with your "energy" .

Appreciate the compliment big J. My evolution (along with Snydershrugged's) from where we were mid last decade to today is fascinating and interesting to look back on.

Really the facts don't lie. We have been hoodwinked as a nation

Well, what do you do if you know one of these two guys is going to be president? I say learn their plans and pick one, because if you don't it will be picked for you...

Edit: I don't like that Obama has wall street gusy in his cabinet, but I whole-heartedly feel Romney is going to give these big businesses anything they want. Not down with that at all...

President Obama hasn't come close to leading. Its not his style.
I usually enjoy reading your perspective even when I disagree with you, but you can't be serious with this.

Did Clinton enter office with the opposing party publicly stating that their only goal over the next 4 years was to make sure he failed? The R's on the hill have cared more about that objective than actually doing anything to help the country. It's a complete joke.

Because some of us are less cynical than others?

I don't agree with everything Barack Obama does. To be frank, I think anyone who agrees with EVERYTHING he does is exhibiting blind faith and needs to be more well read. What I do, is I trust him to do the right thing MOST of the time. Obama is not some saint. But I'm not going to be pissed because he didn't do everything he wanted to in the first four years (what President does) and ignoring the things he has done, which, most of the time, I personally feel, have been the right things. I know how we got to where we are, and Obama is the closest to my view of how we're going to get out of where we are. And hopefully he has a change of heart on some of the dumb **** he's done in the past.

I don't think cynicism breeds change any more than blind faith does. Cynicism gives people an excuse not to participate because they think nothing will ever change so why bother.

For some of us, the loss of faith is more sporadic and temporary than a lifestyle. We don't lose all hope and just cave to cynicism, completely.

Clinton had a very similar set of circumstances in his first term.

Overwhelming majorities. Big mid term loss. A new House speaker who was very cocky and attempting to run the country from the Speaker's Chair.

He kicked Newt's ass, a far more worthy adversary in 1995 then Boehner/Cantor have been in 2010. The latter are fools
