Did I mishear, or did Romney insinuate that healthcare wasn't in need of reform because people can call and ambulance and go to an emergency room and get help...because that shows sort of a fundamental lack of understanding the healthcare issue...

He definitely said that the uninsured are fine because we as a society treat everybody. The obvious follow up question wasn't asked directly: who should pay for these people that end up in the emergency room but don't have insurance?
So far, none of my conservative friends have offered up a solution.

We have some of the best medical facilities and providers, which any honest metrics will show,as well as innovative efforts to service the poor and wounded vets.

Summing up: The figures from our sources show two different trends. On an annual basis between 1981 and 2003, Texas almost always paid more in federal taxes than it got back from Uncle Sam. But since 2003 the reverse has been true, with Texas receiving more than it paid in five out of seven years, which is close to routine.
