What would A World Without Lawyers be like?
If Mitt was the moderate Mitt (I won't say TRUE Mitt because even as old as he is, I think he doesn't know WHO he is), maybe the primaries would have gone differently.
Exactly. People see him as that and/or this anti-Robin Hood figure that wants to take away from the poor and make the rich richer. It's too late for him to be seen as anything else, even if that isn't the "real him" (whatever that means)
That's a good point, Buford. This is what Jon Huntsman did during the primaries and he was trounced every time. If Mitt had done the same thing, we might be seeing a Santorum/Ryan ticket from the GOP this year.
My home town was carved out of swampland.
@chthomas91
Meaning we wouldn't have Mitt Romney on the ticket, all things considered...

Thing is, I don't think Mitt is a moderate. I truly think he is someone who will say and do absolutely anything to win. He ran as a moderate in MA because he had to do it to win.
Mitt's identity is whatever gets him into a seat of power. I'd rather have a crazy person who's value and ideals are their own than someone who only says what they do to win, and I think that's how most conservatives feel about Mitt.
Mitt is a Romerican 1st.
Which would be even scarier, since Santorum actually believes the crazy **** he says.
Huntsman was the GOP's best hope, especially if they wanted to sway Independents. God forbid they nominate someone with a brain and real knowledge of world relations and economics.
edit: I was gonna say the only economics Romney knows is his own, but I saw Buford beat me to it. Dammit, man!

Mitt's a deal maker. He'll position himself to close the sale.
The difference here is that the deals have to tie together at some level. This sale is too complex for him to wing it, but that's what he's been doing. He hasn't lost the deal yet, but that's not a result of anything he brings to the table.
I don't think these dudes are gonna win.
http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/signal/w...-election.htmlIf Tampa Bay scores more than 14 points in its fourth game, the out-of-power party wins the White House. Otherwise, the incumbent party wins.Check for yourself if you don't believe me. This was true in 2008, 2004, 2000, 1996, 1992, 1988, 1984, 1980 and 1976—every election since the Buccaneers joined the NFL.
They play the Redskins in the fourth week, I believe.

Mitt Romney Doesn’t Get Why Airplane Windows Don’t Open
http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2012/09...dont-open.html
Mitt Romney, a 65-year-old man with two advanced degrees, has no idea why they don't let you open airplane windows mid-flight, according to his own remarks at a fund-raiser in Beverly Hills on Saturday:
Romney’s wife, Ann, was in attendance, and the candidate spoke of the concern he had for her when her plane had to make an emergency landing Friday en route to Santa Monica because of an electrical malfunction.
“I appreciate the fact that she is on the ground, safe and sound. And I don’t think she knows just how worried some of us were,” Romney said. “When you have a fire in an aircraft, there’s no place to go, exactly, there’s no — and you can’t find any oxygen from outside the aircraft to get in the aircraft, because the windows don’t open. I don’t know why they don’t do that. It’s a real problem."
