Wisconsin objects to Romney training manual urging incognito poll watchers

    http://openchannel.nbcnews.com/_news...ite&ocid=msnhp

The Wisconsin agency that oversees elections is objecting to an internal training handbook distributed by Mitt Romney’s campaign that appears to instruct volunteer poll observers in the state to conceal their ties to the GOP candidate when they show up at polling stations on Election Day, a state official tells NBC News.
A campaign official also noted that the Romney campaign has tangled with the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board's interpretation of election law on other matters. Just last week, the Romney campaign settled a lawsuit it filed against the board over military and overseas ballots, resulting in the state extending the deadline for those ballots to be returned.
“We stand by our training materials, but we are always happy to answer any questions that the Government Accountability Board may have,” Ryan Williams, a spokesman for the Romney campaign, said in an email to NBC News.

Magney said there were other problems with the training handbook, including its definition of ineligible voters-- whose ballots could be questioned -- as a "person who has been convicted of treason, a felony or bribery." Magney noted that under Wisconsin law, convicted felons who have served their sentences can have their civil rights restored and are eligible to vote.
The Romney campaign handbook also lists "The ONLY Acceptable Forms of 'Proof of Residency'" for voters -- and then mentions a number of items, such as current and valid drivers’ licenses, photo identification cards from employers, real estate tax bills and college IDs. But Magney said the list is incomplete, failing to mention other forms of proof, including any communication from a government agency, such as student loan documents or vehicle registration cards.

    I agree.

He should be more open by getting the Black Panthers and their night sticks to be a major presence outside polling places.

Mitt Romney basically preyed on people's desire to help for the sake of a few nice pictures of him loading water into a ****ing truck and not answer any questions. He's barely said a word about Sandy as it is.

Hell, why didn't he go to Virginia? THAT'S a swing state too, that's been negatively effected by the hurricane (though not on the same scale), and at least he'd be somewhat close to the action!

    Gutless. Completely gutless.
I know it's a political thread, but I think attacking him for it is inappropriate.

If he were attacking Obama, sure. Nut from what people are describing, I think complaining about it is wrong.

    Yeah. you're right.

One person is a "major presence".

And official campaign literature from from the actual campaign of a Presidential candidate is the same as the actions of one person with no connection to any campaign.

And one wrong, committed by one person, justifies intentional action by an entire political party.

Douchey on Fox had Gov. Christie on yesterday, said Mitt might be headed that way, and asked if he'd be having a photo-op with the candidate. Christie said, "If you think I give a damn about the Presidential race right now, you don't know me." His comments about how great the POTUS has been, giving Christie his personal number at the WH, saying "Call me personally if you need anything"...that's leadership and commitment to helping everyone affected.

you're right, and if obama had shown THAT kind of leadership over the last 3.5 yrs, we wouldn't be in this political situation. it is honestly a shame that this didn't happen earlier (obama reaching out, not sandy) so it wouldn't look like just another political move.

i'm in obama's camp, and even i am thinking "where the **** was this for the last 4 yrs."

    p.s. i voted pre-sandy for obama

So you approve of Romney's underhanded tactics because of what you perceived four years ago.

    Have you no shame?
    No sense of honor?
    Right or wrong?
Is this what your parents taught you, that so long as you believe the other guy is wrong, anything goes?

You ask him for shame, honor, and right/wrong, but what about Obama? Where is your righteous indignation about Obama's lack of all these things???
