CHICAGO – Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney traveled Monday to the urban campus where President Obama once taught constitutional law to lecture the president on the principle of economic freedom.
Delivering a formal speech at the University of Chicago on the eve of the critical Illinois primary, Romney said Obama had “attacked the cornerstone of American prosperity: economic freedom.” He argued that it was free markets and free people, not government, that creates economic prosperity.
“The Obama administration’s assault on our economic freedom is the principal reason why the recovery has been so tepid — and why it couldn’t meet their expectations, let alone ours,” Romney said. “If we don’t change course now, this assault on freedom could damage our economy and the well-being of American families for decades to come.”

WASHINGTON -- It's hardly a secret that presidential candidates tack toward their base over the course of a primary and shift toward moderation once that primary is over. What's rare is when a campaign admits as much publicly.
In an appearance on CNN Wednesday morning, Mitt Romney's top adviser Eric Fehrnstrom made this Kinsley gaffe, saying that the positions taken by the former Massachusetts governor during the GOP primary campaign were as erasable as a drawing on an Etch a Sketch.
Also, Santorum's folks were handing out Etch-a=sketch's to folks outside of a Romney event.

Congrads on winning the Republican nomination. Yeah, you technically won't amass the needed delegates until the California and New Jersey primaries on June 5th; for all practical purposes the primary race is over.
Ron Paul isn't going to beat you. He may pick up some delegates here and there but all he will get is a speech.
Rick Santorum will probably win whatever remaining southern states they are and maybe PA but it's over for him.
Newt Gingrich is mentally deranged. Your campaign is in debt, no more money. Mittens will get the 1144 he needs. Time to go away.
So the fall race is about begin. Obama can start to tear Mittens apart and all he needs to do is just air Mittens vs. Mittens commercials. The only highlights for Mittens will be:
1. Clinching the nomination when he goes over 1144 on June 5th.
2. Picking his Veep nominee.
3. His Republican nomination acceptance speech.
4. Probably will have at least one good debate out of the probable 3 debates.
Come election day, enough Americans will vote for 4 more years of Obama.

Who is the real Mitt Romney?

"The Internet is like a herd of performing elephants with diarrhea: massive, difficult to redirect, awe-inspiring, entertaining, and a source of mind-boggling amounts of excrement when you least expect it" - I wish I had said this.
That is awesome.
That was the best, P.

ARBUTUS, Md. -- At a town hall here on Wednesday, Mitt Romney claimed that the economic policies of former President George W. Bush and then-Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson were responsible for keeping the United States out of a full-scale depression.
"I keep hearing the president say he's responsible for keeping the country out of a Great Depression," Romney said in front of around 200 people at an American Legion post. "No, no, no, that was President George W. Bush and Hank Paulson."
Well, all the Mitt Romneys out there will lose this fall to OBama.
Hell, Obama doesn't even need to debate; just let Mitt Romney debate Mitt Romney.
In case anybody needed a reminder of just how much you're going to miss this election year when it's over:
Birthers want proof that Mitt Romney was born in America
http://now.msn.com/now/0322-romney-vs-birthers.aspx
No, you read that right. You might think birthers are crazy conspiracy theorists, but you can't say they're inconsistent. The fringe group of politicians and concerned voters who have long dogged President Obama for "proof" that he is a natural born citizen are now targeting Mitt Romney. They demand that the California Secretary of State produce evidence that Mitt is eligible to run for president. One birther explains that Romney's citizenship is up for debate because his dad was born in Mexico. Thats right, Mitt Romney's father was born in the Mexican colony that Mitt's great-grandfather founded after fleeing the United States so he could stay married to Romney's four great-grandmothers. Let's all just let that sink in for a moment.

I bet that means they want Santorum for the Republican nominee.
Figured this would be the best place to post this. My take on Mitt Romney:

A Romney / Ryan ticket? The Post's take on it:
As Romney and Ryan campaign across Wisconsin, ‘chemistry’ and talk of a ticket
I've been sitting on the sig below for months, bouncing it off of some folks, anticipating the emergence of full Ryan-as-VP chatter, and wondering when it would prove relevant. Perhaps this is as good a time as any to roll it out.If Romney’s win in Wisconsin strengthened his claim to the Republican presidential nomination, then his five straight days of campaigning with Ryan amounted to a try-out for the youthful congressman as a potential vice presidential running mate.
