I can not seem to find a direct answer on google. So what are the laws on weed in Cali? I've been thinking about going to college there.
Thanks

If you're considering this as a deciding factor as to which university to attend, I highly suggest you analyze your priorities.
It's not necessarily a deciding factor, but it is something I am interested in, especially since I have a condition that warrants it.

If I had to guess without doing research, residency will be a problem for you. I suspect only California residents are eligible, and going to school there will not establish you as a resident.

Two very good friends live in Santa Cruz. Both have cards. They saw a local ad for it.
I think they paid $50 and answered a handful of questions.
Very, very, very easy.

Maryland and the District of Columbia have also decriminalized it for medicinal purposes. If you're a Maryland resident, your doctor should be able to hook you up. Question is... would you consider attending college in the area (pronounced Ir-rea)? Good luck...

Here in Denver, there are more medical marijuana dispensaries than starbucks
I am going to schedule an appointment for myself in a few weeks for my "knee pain" and then get my medical marijuana license.
There are even local magazines that have coupons like "buy one ounce, get 2nd ounce half off" LOL.
I can't friggin wait! toke up fellas. Legally of course.![]()
Welcome to Colorado.
I have a couple questions. Where do you pick up medical marijuana? Good 'ole Kathy at the CVS going to become my dealer now? How good is the stuff? Regular/Middies?
1. Getting a medical marijuana is very easy as a California resident. You just go to a specific doctor who specializes in this sort of thing, say you have one of the conditions that medicinal marijuana is used for, then they'll ask you why you don't use the traditional medications for this, to which you say something like, "I don't believe in all that science bullcrap, I want something natural that grows from the ground." Then you pay that doctor $100, and they give you a card good for a year. I don't know if you could do it as an out-of state college student.
2. If you actually have a medical condition that warrants weed smoking, and don't just like smoking weed, I wouldn't get too wrapped up in the legality of the matter.

There are special dispensaries. It's like how in Maryland you can sell alcohol, but it has to be in a special store dedicated only to that, because putting it in a regular supermarket would be dangerous for some reason. Well, in California, there are special stores dedicated to selling Marijuana. The difference is you can't get in unless you have a special card given to you by a doctor, and if they feel like it, the Federal Government can come in and shut the business down.
A lot of the dispenseries have medical offices inside and you just have to call to find out when the Dr is scheduled to be in. Some are appointment only, some (most) take walk-ins. You go in, get an analysis and if you qualify, you pay the fee.
It is hard to get rejected.

No I actually really enjoy smoking marijuana and its more for that than the medical condition haha. So my condition is social anxiety, and if i go to school in cali then i cant get a card?
Yes but does going to school there qualify you as a resident?
