Also, I'm unfamiliar with Mark Madden. How credible is it that he said that.

At this point anything seems to be believable, but still.

Yes. If threats were any justification for not taking the appropriate action against someone, then nobody would ever be prosecuted in this country.

Bostic has said he would take a wait and see approach on Paterno, but I haven't seen him defend Sandusky or the charity in any form. Why are you lashing out at us? You're acting like a bigger ******* than any of us have.
Oh STFU. I wasn't referring to everyone. I had arguments with a few in the other thread and they know who they are and I didn't mention one time, not one that anyone was defending Sandusky. Read before you post.

As far as Bostic goes? What is there to "wait and see?" If there was the BoT would've taken the same approach.

How about you go ahead and "quiet down" as well, to use your acronyms. There are multiple threads on this, and it's hard to follow all of them, I have no idea who you are fighting with somewhere else. But it doesn't matter, because you said "this thread" not some other one, and referred to PSU folks as cowards in "this thread" for supporting Paterno. And as I stated, beyond Bostic's wait and see approach, I haven't seen one of us not support the actions against Paterno. I can read fine, and can do so without throwing my emotions around the way you obviously can't. Looks like you're bound and determined to keep being a "jerk".

    *Edited, just saw PCS's post.

I feel sick to my stomach after now hearing about the alleged pimping out of children to the rich donors....

Sorry Jay, but this is a very emotional topic for me because of the children. Unfortunately there are a few whom fail to recognize that and it pisses me off.

    I'm confused by your statement.

    In your response to this...

"A Harrisburg civil attorney who has been advising some of the alleged victims of former Penn State defensive coach Jerry Sandusky released a statement today about the board of trustees action last night firing coach Joe Paterno.

'The board of trustees got it wrong. They should have consulted the victims before making a decision on Mr. Paterno,' Ben Andreozzi said. 'They should have considered these victims watch TV and are aware of the students' reaction and may not want to be associated with the downfall of Mr. Paterno. The school instead elected to do what it felt was in its own best interest at the time. Isn’t that what put the school in this position in the first place?'"

...it sounded like you thought the BOT shouldn't have consulted with the victims of Sandusky.

I was asking if you thought that if the victims were now receiving death threats because of the downfall of Paterno by ignorant people (maybe some of the people from the riots last night) you would feel differently. Those victims have already been through enough. I agree that Paterno needed to be fired but I could also see the other point of view if the kids are now fearing for their lives on top of everything else they've been through.

Maybe I misunderstood you at some point.

I think I may be one of those you are talking about...it goes without saying it makes me sick to my stomach to think this went on at all let alone people letting it to continue to happen.

No, he isn't. Coach K's reputation as an ethical guy, a moral guy, is vastly overblown.

To be clear, I'm not suggesting that he's within two or three leagues of Sandusky or this child rape issue. Not at all.

But if K looks like some pillar of higher principle in relation to the rest of college sports, then the rest of college sports is WAY beyond the point of redemption. Morally, the rest of college sports must look like a gelatinous slime mold subsisting on the microorganisms in a festering heap of yak dung in Cambodia.

Maybe that's true though. Not even kidding.

I don't think Ray Gricar's disappearance has anything to do with the mess at PSU. According to friends and family he may have suffered from depression and he was acting strange just a few days before his disappearance.

Sure his story makes for good TV, but I firmly believe that his death and the allegations are unrelated.

Mark Madden just said on WEEI that reports coming that #Sandusky and Second Mile pimped out young boys to rich donors. #sick

.... ugh. I didnt think things could possible get this bad. This is turning out to be a nightmare of historic proportions.

We'll grind that axe, for a long time!

No, I think you got it right. Someone said the victims should have been consulted when determining what action to take against Paterno. I disagreed that the victims should have been consulted by the BoT when determining whether to fire Paterno.

I would not feel differently knowing that the victims were receiving death threats. It is not their fault that Paterno was fired, and they should know that. Some misguided idiots thinking it is the fault of the victims is no excuse not to take appropriate action against Paterno. That said, the victims should be offered every level of protection, both emotional and physical, available if they are receiving any kind of threats.
