McQueary is going to be on the sidelines Saturday? Bad move...bad move. And I hate to be morbid about it, but if I was the players, I wouldn't stand near the guy just in case someone decides to take a shot or something. There is a lot of anger out there right now.

I'm pretty much numb to the whole thing at this point. I'm more or less done talking about it, I think. I just hope that all the victims come forward and that the trial is fair, swift, and justice done.

Was Mike McQuery a victim of Sandusky when he was a young boy? Is that why he reacted the way he did?

    Just a theory, nothing more
McQueary does not seem to fit the profile. From what I can tell, every victim came out of Second Mile. They had all been the with the program at least two years. The McQueary family is a prominent State College family, and Mike was the golden boy of golden boys.

I do think that McQueary's mind probably short-circuited when it he saw what he saw. But you are really pushing the envelope there.

I know its a dramatic push. It was something I heard on sports talk radio while driving around yesterday, from someone who called in that had been molested as a child himself.

I am trying to put myself in the shoes of people involved. Why didn't McQuery intervene back in 2002? How on earth did this thing go on for nearly another decade? What the hell happened in 1998-1999?

Bradley nearly got emotional when asked what Paterno's legacy would be. He said one of the greatest coaches and men he had ever known. He said it was a honor to work under him.

I still have a lot of thoughts, but I'm just really sad today. And I feel guilt over being sad. Despite all my projected cynicism, I still was once a child and had childhood heroes. And Paterno, unlike nearly every other public figure who influenced me when I was 13, never really went away. I can't believe it's ending this way. I can't believe this is the final result of the Grand Experiment.

And I realize that there are potentially dozens of victims here and my concerns are small beer. So, I feel sad and guilty about being sad.

That's not a mood that makes aruging on the Internet with Westbrook36 or playing along in conspiracy theories all that appealing.

I think Paterno needed to be fired. I just can't believe it really happened. Like I said before, it's entirely possible that I'm done with college football; the sport now makes me sad. I can handle being angry at sports. Sad is different.

Regarding the ongoing Penn State criminal investigation, the NCAA is actively monitoring developments and assessing appropriate steps moving forward. The NCAA will defer in the immediate term to law enforcement officials since this situation involved alleged crimes. As the facts are established through the justice system, we will determine whether Association bylaws have been violated and act accordingly. To be clear, civil and criminal law will always take precedence over Association rules.

With all the kids the Sanduskys adopted and fostered, I'd be surprised if none of them were molested. I hope someone is tracking them down and interviewing them.

Yeah, I wasn't going there at this point I haven't seen or heard anything that would lead me to believe that this went outside the University administration. However, with the power and influence that is carried by the University and the program over towns like Happy Valley I would not be surprised....and I pray to God that nothing like that ever happened, because that would be a monumental disaster. But, it would explain the Federal involvement.

First explanation we've heard as to Sandusky's retirement from Bradley: was offered retirement package for state employees, was professor.

God what a disaster that would be.

I think this is a panic move by the board before they get all the facts straight. Watching that guy do his press conference, he sounded like they didn't have all the facts and just had to "fire someone." This happened 9 years ago. I just think they should have been more thorough before heads started rolling.

I think my theory is better; the reason McQuery didn't report it was because they gave him a job on the staff. If Madden's write up is true where they said "Sandusky was force retired in exchange for a cover up," then it's reasonable to assume they used the same MO with McQuery by giving him a job in exchange for a cover up.
