Thread: The Mess going on at Penn state Thread

What gets me is that the guy was still holding camps for these kids for YEARS after the fact that he was caught showering naked (best case scenario) with a 10 year old on penn state grounds. There just is no excuse for any of this. Everyone had a part in it, and everyone has a part in the failure to protect these children. They all deserve the hell that is coming towards them.

We'll grind that axe, for a long time!

We have a saying in my family when someone tries a guilt trip like this, "Come down off the cross, someone else needs the wood.". You're saying inflammatory and juvenile things and now want to act the victim, please.

Here's footage of the students rioting, absolutely disgusting. Is this what "We are PENN STATE" is all about?

My brother, who is as proud a PSU alum as you will ever find, has told me he is now embarrassed to tell people he went to school there and is seriously worried about how people will view his education on his resume in the future.

Some people take way too much pride in their universities. I'm sure Slacky went to school with some great people and had some terrific professors, but you owe that university nothing. Joe Paterno isn't Penn State. You and anybody else who ever went there is NOT Penn State. "We" are not Penn State. Penn State is a business. Because of the actions of few, the business that is Penn State will suffer. Current students and staff will get caught in the unfortunate crossfire no matter what, but their actions, which are being watched by people across the country, are not helping.

The best that any current or former student could do is keep quiet and think about those people that have been really wronged over these actions. Going out drinking and rioting and spitting your Jim Beam on the fire is only going to make the suffering worse and longer-lasting. Joe Paterno founding a library and being there 6000 years doesn't justify this in any degree. Rational people know that Joe Paterno is not an evil man. If I worried about convincing irrational people on a daily basis, my brain would cave in.

Penn state will get through this, not unscathed, but they will get through this. People that think it would be funny for Joe Paterno to commit suicide will fall into the shadows when nobody is there to try to "shed light" on the event. The sooner alumni help put this issue to sleep, the faster a new day will arrive.

Penn State may get through this, but they are forever linked with pedophilia. Saint Joe and his cultists just have to live with it.

This is a criminal activity, not a cheating, rule breaking, or pay to play type of thing.

The current players and future players certainly should not be penalized for criminal activity that was done by the previous regime. And this really has nothing to do with football. This was an act covered up by a few people that will be punished justly (hopefully), the students are never penalized under NCAA rules in those circumstances.

    Thanks for the sig LCSF

Too ****ing bad for you. For someone that is 45 years old you sure are naive. Joe is gone and all of those years of hard work have been flushed down the drain and his legacy will now be that he is a ****ing coward along with the rest of them. "Sorry if you don't like that."

Congrats to the Board of Trustees for doing the right thing. You know? The opposite of what Paterno did?

The students really ****ed up. They really could've send a message by holding a vigil for the victims. Instead they act like a bunch of clueless ****s.

Shame on PSU. If I was an alum, I would be mortified. Those students clearly think that football legacy is more important than a few prepubescent kids getting raped.

Let me get this straight, Paterno was fired BUT, the man who witnessed a 10 year old boy being raped and walked away from it is still on the sideline? He didn't even call the cops, he didn't stop the rape, he didn't follow up to see if the boy was okay, but he waited until the next day to report it to Paterno?? Paterno needed to be let go or step down but people really are turning him into an animal. What a shame.

This ^. A voice of reason here. Hopefully they can hire good people to run the football program. The students were not involved. However, the students of PSU need to get a clue about what happened to children.
