Default Washington Post: Britain Closes Embassy in Iran

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/...7BO_story.html

TEHRAN – Britain withdrew all its diplomatic staff from Iran on Wednesday and ordered the Iranian Embassy in London closed, after supporters of Iran’s ruling clerics ransacked the British Embassy and residential compound.
European Union member countries were scheduled to meet in Brussels on Thursday to decide whether their embassies would remain open in light of the attack, which was a stark escalation of long-simmering anti-Western sentiment. Norway closed its embassy for the day on Wednesday, and Germany’s Foreign Office announced that it was recalling its ambassador from Iran for consultations.

you know what? Let England start a war with them. They are closer and could be impacted by Nuke Weapons sooner. If they need backup, then ask us. Otherwise, it would be nice to see somebody else do this.

I really hope the UK and Iran don't come to blows over this. We'd be obligated to go fight. It would be a shame to send our people back over there after things wind down in Iraq. Plus, the UK has been doing their share of fighting in the Middle East.

    Nobody needs this crap.

Obligated or not, the Iranian government is heading down the path to get their *** kicked anyway. I'm fully confident we're going to get Russia and China's blessing for invasion BEFORE Iran gets nukes, so at this rate it's only a matter of time, imo...

France and Germany have also pulled their ambassadors from Iran.
(just noticed it mentioned that about Germany in the quote, lol)
The three of them are trying to work on getting tougher sanctions on Iran in the EU.

Well, did the Iranians allow them to leave?

I assume that this was a publicity stunt, staged for Iranian domestic consumption. "Look, citizens! Your government is going to have another crackdown, to protect you from the dangerous British Embassy."

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you are Iranian, right? Out of curiosity, how do you feel about people constantly talking about invading your home country???

ok, yes...no war would be option #1.

If Iran decides they want to fight, I'd prefer their closer neighbors take the lead. That's all.

Per FNC, London has expelled Iranian diplomats.
