I can never stop looking at photos and videos of that place. Just amazing
The soldiers gave three cheers as they urged their tired horses north across the uneven hills. Some of the mounts, exhausted after a week of almost continual marching, began to lag behind; others, spurred on by their enthusiastic riders, began to edge past the regiment's commander. "Boys, hold your horses," Custer cautioned; "there are plenty of them down there for us all."
N.Korean leader sends sweet birthday gift to kids
SEOUL — North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un has sent one kilo (2.2 pounds) of sweets to every child to mark his birthday on Tuesday, carrying on a tradition instigated by his grandfather, state media reported.
A radio report by the North Korean Central Broadcasting Station, monitored in Seoul on Monday, said Kim had mobilised aircraft to ensure that each child in the country aged 10 or under received the candy gift in time.
Villagers in outlying islands "exploded with joy" at the confectionery airlift, the report said.
N. Korean children explode with joy upon receiving sweets for Kim Jong Un's birthday
The giving of "birthday candy" was started in 1980 by Kim's grandfather and North Korea's founding leader Kim Il-Sung.
Kim's father Kim Jong-Il, who died in December 2011, continued the practise when he took over in 1994.

UN sharpens sanctions on North Korea following December missile launch
The United Nations (UN) Security Council on Tuesday sharpened its sanctions on Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and demanded an end to its nuclear and ballistic tests. In a statement, the UN said among those named as targets of the travel ban and asset freeze of the sanctions regime are officials of the country’s missile launch facility and the satellite control center, as well as a banking official involved in the construction of the missile. Companies and committees involved in the launch are also named as subjects to the asset freeze.
In addition, the Council also called on Member States to exercise “enhanced vigilance” in preventing the transfer of funds related to the DPRK’s nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles programs. At the same time, it reaffirmed its desire for a peaceful, diplomatic solution to the situation and called for the resumption of the so-called Six Party Talks on the matter.

R.I.P royallypwned
Let the kids have their fun
We should schedule a random test of our anti-missile defense systems for the same period the Koreans schedule their test of a missile which could hit the U.S.
Afterwards we should schedule a test launch for all the Nuclear Submarines we have lurking in the Sea of Japan, the Yellow Sea, East China Sea, etc.

"It's like catching a stack of pancakes."
Sweep the leg.
North Korea reminds me a lot of a little kid. They like to keep pushing and pushing to see what they can get away with. Sooner or later they will push too far and we will drop the hammer on them. Im sorry but i dont care about their innocent people stuck in that county...what i care about is them developing WMD's and selling them to some other country....
I think we have all realized at this point that at some point we will have to "severely" deal with North Korea. They have been given every chance to back off and they keep pushing. Even China has started to fade to the US side by backing our resolution given to the U.N. N Korea responded with China betrayed us so we will have to deal with them too. N Korea has no friends left. Perhaps its time we truly send them a message since they are so intent on sending us one.
What is the definition of "severely" dealing with North Korea? If you are talking war, invasion, or any other nonsense like that then you are definitely not seeing the big picture. War in the region would not only be devestating for the people in the region (China/Korea/Japan) but it will have widespread repercussions to the world economy.
Only way to deal with North Korea is to find a way to get the North Koreans to develope their economy so that they will less dependent on the military/arms business.
North Korea will not change its focus from military and arms. N Korea is about cross the line of immediate threat. They laid down a statement threatening the US with nuclear tests aimed at us! There is a point where you have to say its a lost cause. N korea laid down threats to China and the US. Enough is enough. We've been trying to get that country to change forever. Quite simply they are power hungry. A country like that which has its emotions swing every second shouldn't have WMDs. Not to mention they know exactly what they are doing. They keep pushing and getting more confidence they can do whatever they want. If they want to throw down cards I say we do too. All it takes is one pod opening in the western US and the country is gone. It would be best for them to remember that. Also sometimes you have to make sacrifices. A hit to the world economy is worth it if multiple countries are in danger. Human lives>Money

you say that "Human live > Money" yet you are basically ignoring the amount of lives that will be lost not only in North Korea but definitely in South Korea and also possibly in Japan.
I said this in number of threads previously and I will say it again...
Invading countries in areas like Iraq and Afganistan is must more different than invading North Korea due it is proximity to major city centres.
so you propose we sit back and take these threats? And when N Korea launches a missile right into one of our major cities (DC,New York, Philly, etc) what are you gonna say? We aren't making crap up here. N Korea laid it down right on the table what they are doing and what it's all about. At that point you are asking for war or worse. I'm tired of people thinkign that you can just change N Korea by changing their economy. They don't care. They want to be all powerful. This isn't about sustaining their economy. They simply want to strike fear into the hearts of countries around the world with threats of WMDs. They need to know the world isn't gonna stand for it. It's like a wimpy dog trying to bark at the big dog except the little dog is now trying to get some steroids so it can take on the big one. Let that little dog get those steroids. See how well it turns out for the big dog.
