Officiating Info for Sunday (Skins-Vikings)

This week's game will be called by Tony Corrente's crew, but it's not certain that he will actually be able to make the game. He's currently undergoing treatment for cancer and it'll likely be a last-minute decision as to whether he leads his crew on Sunday. If he can't make it, he will probably be replaced by Scott Green, who lives in the DC area and has a bye week this week.

This crew calls a lot of offensive pass interference and roughing the passer; everything else is pretty much normal (as far as call rates go). It's a respected crew.

Wishing Tony the best with his treatment and recovery.

I always cringe when I see Jeff Triplette on gameday. I swear that guy hates the Redskins. Plus he's always dangerous with his firece flag throwing technique. Thanks for the info on the refs this weekend.

I'm actually all about Hochuli after watching Triplette this year (not just our games). He's one of those who throws before he thinks and refuses to change his mind/pick up the flag. No matter how far away he is from the play he thinks he knows what the right call is. Seems to like to control games, you see him/hear him a lot.

Sorry, yeah it's Saturday. Force of habit, I suppose. ;-)

Oh, and sometimes it definitely matters who officiates. Watch the Philly-Dallas game and see what Bill Leavy and his boys do.

Really!! The refs seem to call against the Skins regardless of who the crew is.

Greenie, his crew is horribly inconsistent. A pass interference or hands-to-the-face might be called in one instance, but when it's done over again in nearly identical fashion, the same crew member often doesn't call it. I'm sure it's maddening for coaches. And one other thing about this crew (and Leavy, in particular) ---> they tend to favor major market teams and teams with entrenched owners.

What should I be looking for, watching the game called?
