Hey. Like many of us, I'm caught up in last minute unexpected Holidayosity.

So your OP from me is a lump of coal.
"Captain, it's a viewpoint--not one of ours! We're under attack!"

"I see it, ensign! Engage amygdala! Transfer all power from frontal lobes!

Suspend critical thinking field! Go to course heading of reflexive response 101 at full bias!
    Now!'Enter' at will!"

"It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so."

D line needs some serious look at help they are all ok no special players. Jenkins will be great when we get him back in the rotation need that dominate nose tackle!

There's no way the Redskins should have lost this game. How could you lose at home to a 2-12 team? Is it just me, but every time the Redskins struggles on offense the defense plays inspired football. And every time the offense plays good enough to win, the defense can't stop the opposing offense. This 2011 Redskins team is an enigma.

the problem is,, a) money, they are paid too much to go out there and throw their bodies around, b) some go out there and play half hearted. i.e deanglo hall. on the play where he stopped playing against N.E. he said he thought the guy stepped out of bounds. i remember my 2nd practice of little league, the coach said "play untill you hear the whistle" 3) some really dont know how to read their "keys". they try but just dont know the ins and outs playing(which will come with time). d) the fine art of tackling has long been lost.. and you will notice that these guys seem to play better at the end of the year, putting in their resumes for next year..in general they have no heart and no pride (seriously, who would ,you are making millions of dollars a year to play a game, one season and you are set for life, everything after that is just icing on the cake),, although they will "say' all the right clichés..the only thing most of these guys care about is being paid...

Well you kinda have to blame the new rules for that. If he hits him and hes out of bounds, he could get a penalty. Kind of like the Fletcher hit on Brady, it was complete BS, was Brady down? Did the whistle blow?

Also throw in the fact Hall has been called a couple of times for late hits this season when guys were close to out of bounds and the whistle and the hit happened at the same time....the St. Louis game as I recall.

I don't know what game you guy were watching but the defense was playing rather well in the first half, came out the second half and was lights out in the first few plays. The defensive struggles came about when Ponder went out and Peterson got hurt. The defensive scheme going into the game was based off of the offense typical ran by the Vikings. The switch to the wild cat or spread killed them, not being able to scheme that for a week of practice or film study is often very difficult to play against. I'm not defending them just making a point.

That's a lame excuse. They couldn't stop a college offense featuring two backups?

The D's failures yesterday point to Haslett. He has to do a better job making in game adjustments. We did not stop the Vikings once once Webb came in until the very end of the game when they were in obvious run run run punt situation.

The scrambling quarterback is a nightmare for any defense, that adds another dimension to the offensive that the D has to worry about. I not saying or making excuses for the defense they should have made adjustments to stop them maybe it would have been a much different game if Webb had started and they game planned for it from the beginning. Even when ponder took off a few times he made positive yards but once he got pounded a couple times he was more hesitate to run. Off topic London is the man when he hit Ponder I thought they were going to flag him for destroying the quarterback.

Bowen is having a great season, and my dad refuses to hear any negative comments I have on Cofield with him being undersized. Having said that, we can wait for Jenkins to come back healthy if we want, but the real problem with the defense is the secondary: specifically SS and FS.

Our safety play in the vikings game was so damn horrible, correct grammar cannot describe it. They offered ZERO run support and we're constantly getting beat on passing routes that took advantage of our safeties lack of speed. I don't know what they saw in Gomes that made him so special, and we already agree Doughty should not be starting. But Otagwe is not playing up to what we needed at FS and we really need a healthy Landry back.

Otherwise, safety is going to be just as high a priority this offseason as QB, imo. The front 7 is fine, but all you have to do is get over the top or through that first line and its over. As much blitzing as we do, it's not just great corner play we need, great safety play is imperative as well...
We don't know what we think, we don't know what we know. All we have to go on, is what we say and what we show...
