I had a ridiculously vivid dream last night. It was like I was watching sportscentre 12 months from now, and it was looking back at the 'surprise package of 2012 - the washington redskins'.

We picked up Dwayne Bowe and Tracy Porter in free agency, and then came over the top of Cleveland to offer the Rams our 2012 1st and 2nd round picks, our 2013 first round pick, and Terrence Austin to move up. We took RGIII with the pick.

RGIII went on to win rookie of the year by a mile, ad we made it to the NFC Championship game, losing it to (of all teams) the Detroit Lions by several TDs.

It was sooo vivid. I woke up and realised it was February 2012 and was actually kinda bummed.

Ah well.

EXPECIALLY if your current lineup is Rex Grossman and John Beck. the fact that not everyone else on the team is a pro bowler should not stop you. this is an opportunity and position we may not find ourselves in in 2013, 2014, or 2015.

I considering having him fall to the sixth pick as us having a chance to take him. Having a team that will swap with us for two firsts a second and a third is a chance. Handing the Rams a list of our picks for the next two or three years and yelling "Here, take what you want, just give us that second pick" doesn't really strike me as having a chance or an oppurtunity

Nope. Their pick will command a bevy of picks, with which they can get more guys they want.

I also think the Rams believe they have a guy they can build around at this point in Bradford. This is not a stretch for them to trade out and gain many good picks doing so.

Only one team has two first rounders, so they aren't getting their second third and fourth choices if they do trade.

People were saying the same thing about the Giants when they were 7-7 and just got the smack laid on em by the Redskins for the second time this season. That's the crazy thing about the NFL, you just don't know till it plays out....I definitely think the Lions are contenders for the next few seasons.

Heard a scenario today that they might actually draft RGIII and trade him to the highest bidder. Isnt that almost the same thing?

That would be kind of weird when they could trade the pick its self for what will amount to multiple top teir players straight out of college (this year and next probably) which goes a long way in rebuilding a program that needs help big time outside of QB. Not sure why they would want to draft then trade which would likely only render veteran players who a) may or may not fit into their scheme or b) won't be playing much longer. Unless of course they are in win-now mode, but that seems unlikely since they just hired Fisher and he seems to want to build.
