elkabong, i agree with your points. what im referencing, is i keep reading is people acting as if the browns are out of the running if they arent willing to give up the #22. in fact, there is no reason for them to give up the #22, ESPECIALLY if they do match us pick for pick. imo, its getting quite comical reading here. redskins fans will grab and hold onto any "straw" that has a reason as to why cleveland "shouldnt" take rg3. its just a maddening case of people trying to convince THEMSELVES that rg3 will be a redskin.

That report actually makes me more optimistic about RG3, especially this part:

Cleveland Browns general manager Tom Heckert acknowledged Thursday that he has had talks with the St. Louis Rams about the No. 2 overall pick, but he wouldn't classify them as "serious."

[...]Heckert called all the speculation about a possible trade with St. Louis preliminary and labeled media reports as "crazy." He also said it's possible the Browns might hold onto their first pick.

"We feel very comfortable staying at four and getting a good player there, and that could happen," he said. "And we feel comfortable in moving down and getting more picks, we really do. It's way early to start talking about this stuff."

Heckert said the Browns believe there are four quality quarterbacks in this year's draft class.
