Mike Shanahan on the building momentum "I tell our players, let your play do your talking. Talk is cheap."
I thought Merrill and Herm were going to get into a fisticuffs. Somebody was gonna get their ass beat.
After getting distracted after starting the video about 5 times, I finally watched the whole thing.
I think Hoge made his argument, that Luck and Griffin should be considered 1A and 1B, and not 1 and 2, very well. The rest seemed like they were caught a little flat-footed. They argued, but I don't think anyone really had any solid arguments.
Something that I think Hoge missed a chance on was when someone mentioned that Luck was playing without WRs this year, and that Griffin had better talent around him.
What the easy counter was is that Griffin had Kendall Wright, sure, BUT Luck had Coby Fleener, the consensus top TE in the draft AND, as importantly if not more importantly, Luck had Decastro and Martin protecting him, two first round guys at OG and OT respectively. The highest ranked guy on Baylor's line is Phillip Blake, a 4th or 5th rounder at best. So while Griffin might have had 1 better receiver, Luck had the luxury of a great line.
Anybody see the pft article on how the Turds are already thinking about how to defend RG3? Methinks the Skins are about hit the East like a hurricane. pun intended.
Wouldn't they already be doing this for Vick?

I can and WILL play Redskins games too in the future...
That was exactly my point a few messages ago...well said. Another point Hoge missed was the HUGE disparity between the two QBs scoring TDs by taking it in themselves. 33 to 7. Every other stat is just about even, especially when you know RGIII had an ACL injury that kept his development in check just about when he was ready to break out.
Anyway we can safely say there is not Ryan Leaf between these two guys, both the Colts and us are about to get a great prospect and its up to the teams to develop this prospect correctly. I trust Shanny on this more as he hasn't really had many duds in his career. Young, Elway, Cutler, Plummer and please don't come back with Mcnugget. The guy simply wanted to cruise and didn't want to put in the work in this offense.
on another note, at the combine RGIII run the first leg of the 40 at 4.41 and the second at 4.38. I thought you best time counts, so why everyone is saying he run 4.41. Am I missing something?
I hope they drill the 3 second timer into RG3's head VERY quickly.
Finally had a chance to watch all of his games from last year, and his tendency to hang out in the pocket waiting for some thing to develop downfield is asking for disaster (injury)
Also hope he is willing to slide ALOT more often rather than fight for that extra yard when he does take off and run it.
I want to see the kid upright the whole season, not missing games every year![]()
