I wonder if Jr will finally get his win. I got a weird feeling he might steal this one.

Obama should put a stop to this now. How dare they allow car racing; bad for the environment. Ban all forms of auto racing now.
Rats I don't see Smoke in the pack.

Whew Smoke rolls in on the last turn.

Good race Matt. Next year Smoke.
I understand being a teammate but I'm not sure I understand just sitting back and letting the other guy take the race. Biffle basically gave up 2nd also.
I retract my post about the Roush cars.
Damn, Kenseth is the most boringest driver in NASCAR history.
Boooo
"It was like he was Jason on 'Friday the 13th' -- man just wouldn't go down," - Honolulu bar patron on Trent Williams being tasered and smashed over the head with a champagne bottle.
That's true. But he'll still likely start the majority of the races for that team. He's a pretty good qualifier. I see him starting the most races out of the rotation of drivers they have this year.

He said he plays in a salary cap league. In other words, you can't pick all the better drivers (it works this way in a lot of fantasy leagues). Labonte finished in the top 5 there last year. So if the OP had him for just this race, then he came out pretty well (Labonte finished 14th). I have no way of telling how good or bad his (the other poster's fantasy team) team is, though, because I don't have the driver values in front of me.

Yeah, she had a rough week. None of the 3 wrecks she was in were of her on making. However, she's gonna have an AWFUL year. I don't know what Smoke was thinking, giving her that schedule she'll have. She's gonna be running on most of the harder tracks (like Darlington) over her 10-race season. There will be very few races out of that 10 that she will even finish on the lead lap. He didn't do her ANY favors. Should have given her tracks she felt more comfortable on to begin her Cup career. That way she could have built her confidence up for the harder tracks like Darlington, Dover, Bristol, etc. BIG miskake. By the end of the 10 races she runs this year she's gonna be doubting if she can ever make it in Cup. They should have just let her run the full Nationwide schedule this year, and given her 10 Cup races on tracks she's ran before.

No one has. That was surreal. Just glad no one was injured. That could have had a MUCH worse ending.
---------- Post added February-28th-2012 at 03:36 AM ----------
Maybe. But I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't do anything. It was just a freak accident. Like they were saying, everyone did exactly what they were supposed to do. There was nothing Montoya could do. Those guys can't go slow when they're coming out of the pits onto the track. More times than not they're trying to catch up to the back of the field before a green flag drops. Nothing you can do when something on your car breaks something in rear like that, where you can't steer it.

You obviously didn't hear Biffle post race interview. He more or less said Kenseth was too fast to catch. Teammates or not, though, he should have at least attempted to make a move on the outside. He and Jr could have possibly sailed by.
My point is, he didn't let him "take" the race. That's not giving Kenseth any credit.

Had a dream last night that Tony Stewart won Daytona.
That was a good dream.![]()
I had the same dream. Just saw the highlights...Wow, never seen a fire like that!! Tony will win plenty this year, he's a great driver. And I agree, Tony didn't do Danica any favors with the schedule. Let's just pray He keeps everyone on the tracks safe and we have an exciting season for the Cup!!![]()

I'm still not exactly sure that Danica has what it takes in NASCAR, we'll see. The other drivers made her look really bad this last week, every wreck in a race that she had was the fault of someone else. We'll see how she does, honestly I hope she does well, but her success so far in Indy has been fairly muted.
Having watched Danica race in IRL and constantly lose her head in the heat of the battle I came to the realization that she is nothing more than a marketing tool. I would be completely surprised if she has more than a fleeting moment or two. I may be wrong, but I have been going to and following IRL and this all I can surmise.

I am tempted to agree, and the shouting spat she had with her spotter certainly doesn't help her reputation. And I certainly agree about the marketing, but then that's what the advertisers want, attention, and GoDaddy is not shy about being attention whores, plus their money puts a third car in Smoke's garage which had to wait until the economy heated up again. Danica just hasn't proven herself, and sure a win is a win, but racing for a win and strategic wins are viewed very differently by not just a few people.
A driver wins though, what wins does she have? She probably left IRL because there are two other women there Simona DiSilvestro which were better drivers and not just hot GoDaddy.com girls. She has blown her lid for years on IRL and walked around with a smug unapproachable look on her face while other IRL drivers more famous and successful stood in the heat talking to fans.
One win in 2008, no many laps led or top finishes. Maybe she thought Nascar was easier, doubt it.
