I guarantee they considered the imagery in moving the speech. The Obama campaign believes they would have filled the stadium on a normal day -- they're not just saying that. However, what I don't think they have said is that they were worried about filling the stadium in a potential downpour. With those attending having to stand a line for a good while before the speech starts, common sense says a good number of them don't want to watch the speech in a downpour. So they leave, and you have a stadium only 2/3 full.

On top of that, the visuals of people in ponchos, getting rained on -- it's a downbeat visual for viewers to see. There is a reason why baseball games played in on-and-off rain showers feel like they're being played in front of nobody. It often takes the energy out of a place.

A stimulus that didn't build anything but over 150,000 jobs. You don't seem to notice that the pivital stop in job losses occurred just at the same time that the stimulus took effect. Are you saying that's just a coincidence?

You know, truth has a liberal bias.

One of the things that really stood out to me last night is how smartly and tangibly the Dems are trying to link Obama and Clinton. It really provided a more coherent sense of direction and philosophy for the party. Compared to the R's, who barely mentioned Bush at all, and certainly didn't let him anywhere near a microphone. They are running away from their own history, pretending 2000-2008 never happened. All the republicans seem to have is anger, resentment, and mistrust of the government and american people.

I still dunno about North Carolina going to Obama. It's going to be close, but my gut is telling me Romney's going to carry it. I think Obama wins the other swing states, though.

I think its too early and too close to tell. Romney has been prone to eff ups of both large and small scale (so has Biden though). The question is when will his next mess up be and how big will it be. I think that will help add some clarity to this race.

Working for a pretty major health care company in the area, I can tell you there are some big changes for the industry. And not all of them will make it easier for us.
