He has gotten a bounce in the state polls actually. And even in some of the national tracking polls already. Those tracking polls generally have 7 days of polls in them... it takes a little while to see the trend change.

Actually, just look at the national polls: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epo...bama-1171.html

One of those polls is not like the other... we call that an outlier.

I think there is a clear trend towards Obama in the last couple days.

    Gun Industry Thriving

WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama has presided over a heyday for the gun industry despite predictions by the National Rifle Association four years ago that he would be the "most anti-gun president in American history." Gun buyers fear that Obama wants to restrict their purchases, especially if he were re-elected.

An analysis by The Associated Press of data tracking the health of the gun industry shows that sales are on the rise, so much that some gun manufacturers can't make enough guns fast enough. Major gun company stock prices are up. The number of federally licensed, retail gun dealers is increasing for the first time in nearly 20 years. The NRA is bursting with cash and political clout. And Washington has expressed little interest in passing new gun laws, despite renewed calls to do so after recent deadly shootings in Colorado and Wisconsin
Are gun shop owners secretly going to vote Obama? He is good for their business.

In the past two days, liberals have seized on the remarks and Obama has made the comment a part of his stump speech. “I don’t know if you were listening last night, but, see, we don’t have to order up some binders to find qualified, talented, driven young women to learn and teach and thrive and start businesses,” he said in Athens, Ohio on Wednesday. In Manchester, New Hampshire earlier today he said, “See, we don’t have to order up some binders to find qualified, talented, driven young women who can learn and excel in these fields right now.”

The fact that Obama is making an issue of this suggests to me that his campaign is increasingly worried about signs that Romney is closing the gender gap, which would mean lights out for his reelection given Romney’s advantages among male voters.

    http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epo...llege_map.html

I'll use RCP as a baseline.

    They have it:

    Obama- 201
    Romney- 206
    Tossup- 131

    Tossup States for RCP

    Colorado (9)
    Florida (29)
    Iowa (6)
    Michigan (16)
    Nevada (6)
    New Hampshire (4)
    Ohio (18)
    Pennsylvania (20)
    Virginia (13)
    Wisconsin (10)

I will give Obama: Wisconsin, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Nevada, Iowa and Michigan. That's 89 electoral votes; giving Obama 290. Romney gets New Hampshire, Colorado, Florida and that's 42 EVs. That will give Romney 248.

If Romney is going to pull the upset then he will have to win 22 EVS- meaning he probably needs Virginia and Ohio and while it will be close; I don't see Romney winning both.

Of course, the shocker would be PA going to Romney.

On the Senate side, the Dems will retain the Senate and may pick up a seat. The only way I see the Republicans winning the Senate is if Romney wins in a wave and goes over 300 EVs, that wave would probably push some of the close races in the Republicans favor.

What do you mean RCP? What bias (D or R) does it have?
RCP was started to give conservatives a one-stop-shop to find their political opinions.

The [founders of RCP] have described themselves as frustrated with what they perceive as anti-conservative, anti-Christian media bias, and while Patrick Stack of Time magazine has described the commentary as conservative-leaning, the site includes columns and commentary from both sides of the political spectrum.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RealClearPolitics

More importantly, RCP tries to shift the center of the political debate to the right at all times. When aggregating content, there will be an article by, say, someone from the Christian Science Monitor, then one by Ann Coulter. One by someone from the Economist, then one by the Erick Erickson of RedState. One by someone from the Washington Post, then one by Michael Savage. Every single heavily partisan conservative blogger or columnist gets big time treatment, almost ever day. It is a conscious editorial decision to give extra credibility to the far right point of view.

It's really not very subtle if you look for it. Try and find one single "lefty" blog that shows up there with any frequency. Now try to find any well-known "righty" blog that doesn't show up all the time.

I'm not sure how Real Clear comes off as biased in the sense that it's simply an aggregator site that simply serves up links across the political spectrum. If they are taking up a right tilt anywhere I applaud them but I've always gone there because it clearly has a mix of views.

They don't care about civil liberties period or even in the notion of peace. In a sane world, this would end a man's presidency.

And it seems very unlikely to me that any President elected---including any third party President---would immediately end said program.

Maybe you're more optimistic than me. But power gained is not power easily ceded, by anyone.

Any of you folks who, unlike me and my Democrat partisan-ness, do care about civil liberties, and who are sane, care to explain to us inferior people what should have been done with, say, Ossama?

You're kidding right? Romney's team realized that all the people they knew were men so they had to go looking for qualified women...I thought the Right was against affirmative action. The attack is that Romney is part of an old boys club and has to import women, and considering women are one of the prime voting blocks this time around being able to paint Romney as a guy who is forced by political reasons to bring women workers into his team, make Romney's care for women workers look forced, add to that fact hat Romney is against equal pay for women and this can quickly become a thing with moderate female voters.
