"Paid for by Americans for an American America" was pretty funny.

The Citizens United decision has made this country a better place fer sure.
Looks bad. But I didn't see anything about death panels, so that's a plus.

The choice on November 6 is pretty clear, and the ballot papers should reflect this:

So, i just had an awful thought.

How impossible is it to think that eventually the voting machine can be set up to give you a coupon for a free big mac if you vote for X, or a tire rotation if you vote for Y..

I sure hope no big wealthy super pac people read this.

If they can print a coupon, they can print a copy of your ballot. That would be the best thing to happen to prevent the machines from being hacked. People can double check their ballot right on the spot, and if there's a problem it can be reported.

Or they can be bribed by the voting machine and make up their mind based on whether they need a Big Mac or a tire rotation..

Geez, I hate McDonald's burgers and I don't have a car. Looks like I'm still voting third party.

Since Gary Johnson is a libertarian, I guess you have your choice between a doobie and a hooker.

    Well, that explains it.

I thought you just voted weirdo.

    (Yes, I'm kidding.)

Problem is, how do you verify that what's printed on the receipt matches what the voting machine recorded in it's memory?

What stops the machine from printing out 500 receipts that say "you voted for Obama", while counting the votes for Romney?

(That's why, in Larry's electronic voting scenario, the machine prints out a receipt, for you, and retains a carbon copy of your receipt. And the machines are randomly audited, to verify that what's on the carbon matches what the machine, electronically, reported.)

Because it's only one side that's causing the problems.

Don't feed into this "both sides do it" crap. It's the right-wing that essentially launched a war of sedition against American governance, not the left. It's the right-wing that openly tried to sabotage the country economically to gain partisan advantage. It's the right-wing that is attempting to undermine the American State itself and divide its people in the name of corporate interests.

The only thing wrong with that picture is that it didn't have "Before Reagan".
