"The Internet is like a herd of performing elephants with diarrhea: massive, difficult to redirect, awe-inspiring, entertaining, and a source of mind-boggling amounts of excrement when you least expect it" - I wish I had said this.
Yeah it was a good idea.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ARPA-E
Too bad it remained unfunded until 2009... and too bad so sad Gore failed in 2000.ARPA-E was officially created by the America COMPETES Act within the United States Department of Energy (DOE) in 2007, though without a budget. The initial budget of about $400 million was a part of the economic stimulus bill of February 2009.[2] ARPA-E was authorized but without an initial budget until it received $400 million of funding in February 2009 through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Recovery Act).
Don't be shy....Gore continues to fail(aside from getting rich off the lemmings)

Proud of Northern Virginia.
Some republicans are very concerned with the state of our defense and military claiming cuts will compromise this country's safety.
Any validity in this?

Cyber Monday likely to be busiest online sales day
http://xfinity.comcast.net/articles/....Cyber.Monday/
Other reports I heard said the shopping weekend was successful and mostly even better than hoped.Shoppers are expected to spend $1.5 billion on Cyber Monday, up 20 percent from last year, according to research firm comScore. That would not only make it the biggest online shopping day of the year, but the biggest since comScore started tracking shoppers' online buying habits in 2001.
Online shopping was up 26.6 percent on Cyber Monday compared with the same time period a year ago, according to figures released Monday evening by IBM Benchmark, which tracks online sales. Sales from mobile devices, which include tablets, rose 10.2 percent. The group does not track dollar amount sales.
It's been a couple weeks since the Atheist Muslim Socialistic Kenyan Negro won and so far sales are decent, I still have my firearms, you can still mention Jesus without being imprisoned, and our straight kids haven't been forced to have mandatory abortions and then marry the gheys yet. But I'm on alert.
They're kinda uncomfortable, by the way (lerts).

I'm about as big a supporter of the military as there is. I've studied military history and closely followed every national security issue since I was around 14 years old, and IMO... NO a few minor cuts are not going to be an issue. Once we get out economy in order we can ramp up again in a few years if we need to.
Speaking of national security, it's worth noting that Russia is getting better at stealth, and the Chinese have just launched their first jets off of their converted Russian Carrier. These are milestones that should be noted, but we have enough of a lead in not only the technology but the use of that technology, that our lead is safe for at least ten years.
