Check the comments section of even supposedly legitimate right-wing sites and it doesn't take long to get down to the real meat. Elected Republicans with "oops" apologies after forwarding blatantly racist photoshops of the President and his family. Sununu himself just a couple weeks ago inferred Obama isn't an American. This crap never ends.

Recently I came across an old (but apparently still popular because it was a "most viewed") article on Michelle on the Washington Times site. The nicest comments referred to "Moochelle" and the moocher-in-chief, numerous simian references to her and the girls, 'clever' references to female anatomy, and more than one that could easily be construed as a death threat. Nobody even bothers to remove or discourage this kind of stuff anymore.

"I want to apologize if anyone was offended when I called the President a nig-nog. It was an unfortunate misstatement - I merely meant to say that the President is known to enjoy egg-nog at Christmas time. Actually, it's nice to see that he has finally adopted at least one of our American Christian traditions, however minor. We should give him credit for at least trying.

Anyhow, I shouldn't have said it that way, but this whole tempest in a teapot demonstrates once again the hypocritical way that the leftist media and this Administration are just waiting to whip out the race card whenever they can. They won't arrest Black Panthers that forcibly keep regular law abiding Americans from going to the polls, but they scream racism at every opportunity when it suits their purposes. Clearly, Real American values mean nothing to these elitists anymore."
"The Internet is like a herd of performing elephants with diarrhea: massive, difficult to redirect, awe-inspiring, entertaining, and a source of mind-boggling amounts of excrement when you least expect it" - I wish I had said this.

People seem to love her. I dunno if I'd call her creepy, but there's definitely something very odd about her. I was very surprised by the mostly positive reaction to her convention appearance because I thought it was downright strange. Like a waay-too-old cheerleader juiced on some mood-altering substance. I noticed the action pictured above after the debate and wondered what this woman was thinking, did she think Mitt was going to fall into the crowd? I don't know her enough to like or dislike her, just seems like a very odd duck.

A lot of these snarky posts are reminscent of the last couple weeks of Obama's campaign: completely lacking in actual substance. If O tanks the election I can already anticipate all the excuses you guys are going to come up with explaining away the loss: "he didn't want it," "too many old whites voting from a stance of pure hatred," "the voting was rigged" etc and on and on.

Despite predictions of disenfranchisement, black voter participation in GA above 2008 levels

More than a quarter million African American voters in Georgia have already cast ballots for the November elections, the highest participation rate ever recorded by the secretary of state’s office.

According to state elections officials, 780,545 Georgians, of which 33 percent were black, had already voted in the presidential contest as of Friday.

Should the preliminary rate of participation remain steady through the close of polling on November 6, this year’s election will be recorded as the single largest black voter turn out event in state history.

African American participation rose to historic highs in 2008, when Barack Obama first appeared on a national ticket, but still only represented 30 percent of the full electorate.

The surge in black participation comes even as the overall rate of early voting has fallen below 2008 levels–by the time early voting ended in that race, a full 2 million voters had already cast their ballots–and in spite of concern by civil rights groups that the state’s voter identification law could disenfranchise black voters.

A recent study by researchers at the University of Chicago and Washington University in St. Louis warned as many as 73,000 black Georgians under age 30 may be barred from the ballot box next month because of the state’s 2007 law requiring voters present a government-issued identification for their vote to count.

Similarly dire predictions have been made in the years since Georgia first implemented the law, then one the nation’s first, but the state’s new participation data might dull the political argument against the measure.

John McCain Slams Colin Powell For A Second Time: He 'Got Us Into Iraq'

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) is still not pleased with former Secretary of State Colin Powell's endorsement for President Barack Obama's second term.

Speaking to National Review's Robert Costa on Friday, he said, "Colin Powell, interestingly enough, said that Obama got us out of Iraq. But it was Colin Powell, with his testimony before the U.N. Security Council, that got us into Iraq."

McCain blasted Powell on Fox News Radio's "Kilmeade & Friends" Thursday for endorsing Obama for reelection. "Well, I’m just saddened because, you know, I used to be a great admirer of Colin Powell," he said. "We were friends. I think one of the sad aspects of his career is going to the United Nations Security Council and telling them things about Iraq that were absolutely false."

"All I can say is that Gen. Powell, you disappoint us and you have harmed your legacy even further by defending what has clearly been the most feckless foreign policy in my lifetime," he continued.

I'm convinced now that so many of the papers are just not trying to hide their biases. Here's a quick look at the posted links on Real Clear:

"Obama's Road to Victory in Ohio"
"The Inflection Point: Obama Won't Catch Romney"
"The State of the States: Obama's Odds Still Over 70%"
"The Obama Campaign Is Right To Panic"

And on and on. It's like each headline doesn't just contradict the next, it completely refutes it. What a ****** business journalism is these days.

She seems perfectly fine to me.

Honest answer. You are partially correct. We will be dumbfounded.

However, a lot of the lack of substance in this thread seriously comes from not being able to parse any genuine "substance" out of any of Romney's positions.

Real Clear politics is a clearinghouse for punditry. Unfortunately presenting biased opinions from both sides is largely what "unbiased" journalism has become. You see it all the time. "Today we have Ed Schulz and Ann Coulter on to discuss what really happened in Benghazi" .

Papers like the Washington Post endorse candidates, as they did with Obama. But they also afford equal space to 'the other side'. To me, it seems like they have their bias compartmentalized in a transparent manner and I respect this approach.

You really then don't think there's a fair chance that O might lose? I don't trust many of the polls but it seems in the aftermath of the Denver debate, much of the momentum has been moving Romney's way. I personally don't know how it's going to play out but I don't think I'd find myself dumbfounded if either won it.
