Anytime you can go into FA with 30mil is free cap you know there will be a ton of moves.

Not far off with my numbers if Clayton's numbers get close to holding up.
There may still be some incentives to be taken into account and that will adjust the carryover but those won't be overly significant.
I dunno UK-SKINS-FAN-74 I didn't see to many Skins beat writers/media personalities - or even fans - preaching a +$40m in possible cap space in 2012 until 24-36 hours ago.

For those of us who aren't capologists, there's a quick rundown of the situation. One of those teams is your Washington Redskins, who are $47,568 million under the projected salary cap (which is expected to be close to last year's $120,375 million). That puts the Redskins in position to re-sign London Fletcher, which they hope to do, and fellow defensive mainstay Adam Carriker if they so choose and still do pretty much whatever they want to do in free agency. The Redskins need a No. 1 wide receiver, offensive line help, secondary help and of course a quarterback. They should be one of the league's most active teams in free agency, though I wouldn't expect a reversion to the old, splashy days in which they just grabbed the biggest names out there. Mike Shanahan has an idea about the kinds of players he wants and a list of specific names he plans to pursue. The Redskins' free-agent period will be well-funded, but it will also be focused and directed, which Redskins fans should appreciate. Something like last year's free agency for them, except with a focus primarily on offense instead of defense.
In other news, make sure you get your commas and decimal points right. It makes a big difference.
EDIT: Mods, go ahead and delete this. Forgot about the salary cap thread. My bad.

OLB Coach for the 3x State Champs: 2001, 2002, 2008 Atlantic Shores Seahawks2012 Final Record: 2-9
This is, of course, part of Shanahan and Allen's rebuilding plan. If this were a rebuilding of a house, they've given themselves quite a lot of financial room to go out to Home Depot (so to speak) and get the necessities to keep building a strong foundation. Snyder and Vinny would go out and blow all the money on a pool instead lol...
Skins: $47,568 million under
Eagles: $14.9 million under
Cowboys: $12.667 million under
Giants: $7.25 million over
We could do some serious catching up within the division this offseason.![]()
Yup, imo it's a reflection of not having to pay top $ for our starting QB. And if we draft one we should still be in really good shape
I like the part where we can sign/draft everyone we want and still have room for a "mad" item. In this case, Peyton Manning![]()
$47 billion? Wow, nice to see someone in Washington is frugal.

The hotter the heat, the harder the steel, no pressure no diamonds, we compete, we win
We are the next decade of the Washington Redskins
Where have you been bro?! thanks so much.. hope to see you around these parts more often. Love your work!!

Clayton on ESPN reporting Skins $47m under. Knew my numbers were pretty close.
-this offseason is going to be off the hook!!![]()
Wow. Someone in the media who has finally put our "Snyder likes to Spend a Ton of Money" days behind us. The media is starting to pay attention correctly. That's scary.

Redskins 2013 Opponents:
Home- Dallas, NY Giants, Philadelphia, Detroit, Chicago, San Francisco, Kansas City, San Diego
Away- Dallas, NY Giants, Philadelphia, Green Bay, Minnesota, Atlanta, Denver, Oakland
So what are we going to do with all this cash?
For OL, I would like to see another approach like last off-season: stay away from the high price models and lets go for value. I would prefer quantity over quality here. I really dont want us to overspend on Grubbs and/or Meyers here, and I think both of them might get offers out of our price range.
For DBs, I like what everyone's been posting about Carr, but then again the rest of the league should be noticing this too. If we dont snag him at a good price, I'm all for moving on to the next name on the list. This is another spot where I'd rather sign 2 good than 1 great DB.
However, for WR, this is where I would go for it. Colston is the most realistic option in my mind. Bowe is not leaving KC, and I think VJax will want more money and a better QB situation than what we have to offer. I would be perfectly willing to overspend somewhat on Colston. I'd peg him as a lower end #1 WR (somewhere between 15~20 best WR), but I wouldn't cry if he got mid #1 WR money (10~15) from us.
With such a large cap space, we could structure his deal to be ridiculously unfriendly in year 1 (less signing bonus, more roster bonus, huge base salary, etc...) which leaves us room in the later years of his deal.
That smells like win-win-win to me.
Do you really believe his Dad would let him play in DC?
