What a terrible organization. Nats need to make a move for Stanton.
I read that the Marlins informed teams that inquired he was not available. But man... Werth, Harper, Zim, Stanton, Morse (at 1B), Desi.. etc

What a potential line up. It's like taking LaRouch, subtracting 10 years off his age and adding 30 points to his batting average. Oh and Stanton was pushing the 40 HR mark this year.

Because the Tigers need another .300 hitter with Martinez coming back next year too. They just signed Torii Hunter to a 2 year deal. They're stacked.

A good veteran who can hit and play the field AND you're not tied to him for 5+ years like the Yankees would have done.

    Brilliant deal

When baseball had real commisioners, this kind of deal would NEVER been allowed to happen. "For the good of the game".

No wonder the Marlins have no fans. What a scumbag.

That's why you should be a SF Giants fan, no matter where you live.

I agree 100%. The league needs to get involved in this. Loria robbed the city of Miami and their fans. They thought he was actually going to commit to winning and then he does this. Worst owner in all of sports.

I don't think they should veto the trade because if he's going to be a moron that's his problem but it's just a hilarious trade. He better start the rebuild and it better be done by 2014 or 2015 at the latest or the fanbase which has seen two World Series titles since '97 will die out.

I don't think they should veto it, but they need to do something about what he has done to the fans and the city of Miami.

And now reports are that the Blue Jays have signe Milky Caberra to a 2 year $16 million deal. WTF is going on with my penny pinching Blue Jays corporate ownership? If the Marlins deal goes through, and they sign Milky, they have added $50million to their payroll next year, and that doesnt sound like a lot considering the yankees & red sox do it almost every off-season, but considering they had a payroll of jsut over $75million last year, that $50million is a huge jump.

Are they known for being stingy? They are owned by a humongous corporation that should be able to pump up a huge payroll.

Although, that is not a lot of money for a guy who just hit .340.

The Jays aren't taking any prisoners. At least they're not afraid to make deals.
