I love Adam Jones, but I'm afraid people think his ceiling is higher than it really is. He was just on fire to start the year, now he has come back down to earth. I'm sure the wrist has something to do with that, but still.

i have been pretty tough on AJ over the years.. mostly because i want him to reach his potential (kinda like orakpo). but even if his ceiling isnt superstar level, it's most definitely at a star level. a batting average around .290 with 20+ bombs is a safe yearly bet with him, and he has the potential to become a .300 30 homer yearly guy. i think we got a good deal with his contract and anything more than his current production is gravy.

I agree with that totally. He will always be a good player and have streaks like every single player in the league. Impossible to stay on fire forever. He is sort of a free swinger and tends to get impatient and swing at bad balls...sort of why he has been in this recent funk.

yeah, he is kinda a free swinger, which is why i dont think his average will ever be much over .300 unless he gets better plate discipline.

great job by the pen tonight, as usual. and i know a lot of people are rightly down on hunter, but he is one of the few guys on the roster that can go deep in the game imo. i think that's valuable for our staff.

it looks like hammel is in for his usual 5 innings.

thought this game was pretty much over with cliff lee on the mound and a 3 run defecit. tolleson with the clutch 3 run homer to tie the game.

yeah that was a heck of a play. great coordination and a great throw.

now the game favors us. home field and a good bullpen.

I like Tolleson at 3rd. I'd say he's our best option there. Throw in Betemit or Reynolds every 4th day.

Oh Adam you chase some crazy stuff sometimes. Still love ya buddy.

Would love to see another late inning win. Hopefully Patton can keep them in check.

Just saw the replay. I went out to play some horrible golf just after Tolleson launched the dinger.

Pence is really out there for his bat, cause damn. Either play it cleanly off the wall or go for it, but don't do neither. Plus the guy has an enormous upper body and bird legs. Dude's a triangle.

I thought Jones should've gotten a hit for that. Wigginton was backing up to it toward the hole and we all know Ty Wigginton has no arm to make that throw. Ah well.

Nice series win! We are just deadly in extra innings this year.
