You know the Skins game is on as I type this, but i'm afraid to watch as I don't know that I can suffer through any more losses this weekend (and the Skins having been excellent at making my monday's suck so far this year). With all that being said, i'm actually still enjoying watching some of america's favorite past time (eventhough the O's are now on vacation). Maybe its my desire to see the yankee's fail that's keeping me tuned into the boob tube

The Rays did that a few years ago... and look how that turned out.... they didn`t even make the playoffs this year.

One thing the Rays learned. Great pitching beats great hitting any day of the week, especially in the playoffs. The Rays have been in contention the last 5 years "because" of their pitching. We were in it "because" of our pitching. We are adding good young pitchers every year. One thing DD loaded up on is starters (we had alot of injuries, but managed with the rotation we had) and he addressed our biggest weakness from 2011: The Bullpen. Rays and O's both have alot of good, young pitchers as do the Jays. Sox and Yanks rotations are getting old. Just a matter of time.

I think Wheets us a lock, JJ a maybe (doesn't usually get the recognition, but was stellar with the glove this year) and Jones has no chance with Trout on the ballot.

Is it time to discuss ways to upgrade the roster for next yr yet. Any FAs available that could help land us atop the AL East. The returns of a healthy Reimold and Markakis would obviously help.

A high OBP 2B would be at the top of my list but the choices aren't great in the FA market. Maybe we can swing a trade somehow.

I'm pretty confident we won't make any splashes and we'll have a offseason simliar to last year, going for depth. We did play out of our minds this year but if our pitching is strong again, there is no reason why we can't make the playoffs again.

I love our power but I really would rather see the power go down a bit and our OBP go up. The Power got us far but if we want to make a run at the World Series, we're gonna need to be able to play small ball and get guys on base a lot more than we did.
