Default Yahoo News (via Sideshow News Blog): legislator David Miller introduces “doomsday” bill

Miller (R) only requested $32,000 out of the budget and that got cut in half, immedaietly. Nowthat's being fiscally conservative.

Wyoming Republican state legislator David Miller has introduced a bill to prepare his state for a doomsday scenario in which the nation's economy and social structure completely collapse.

"Things happen quickly sometimes — look at Libya, look at Egypt, look at those situations," Miller told the Star-Tribune. "We wouldn't have time to meet as a legislature or even in a special session to do anything to respond."

We actually have "doomsday" plans in place for most major institutions, civil and federal. But this stuff (article says six states have tried) revolved around home-grown currency being apart of it. That could be fun.
"Captain, it's a viewpoint--not one of ours! We're under attack!"

"I see it, ensign! Engage amygdala! Transfer all power from frontal lobes!

Suspend critical thinking field! Go to course heading of reflexive response 101 at full bias!
    Now!'Enter' at will!"

"It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so."

Sir, if you remember the details of Plan R, that plan allowed the commander of any SAC base to order a nuclear strike, on his own authority.

Someone should ask this fine elected representative why the situation in the USA is comparable to Libya or Egypt. Other than a Muslim being in charge, of course.

As long as they keep Mel Gibson off the roads and convince Kevin Costner to deliver the mail, we'll survive.

"It is our true policy to steer clear of entangling alliances with any portion of the foreign world. The great rule of conduct for us in regard to foreign nations is, in extending our commercial relations, to have with them as little political connection as possible." George Washington.
"Peace, commerce and honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none." Thomas Jefferson.

So I get an e-mail from Costco about their latest special offers, and the first item is about disaster preparedness, including this featured product ... The JUMBO seed collection.

If a massive computer virus were to disable power/water supplies, it wouldn't be long till we run out of fresh water. How long till there are riots in the streets?
Without water, food will be hard to come by. How long till there are riots in the streets? Etc.....
    Just something to think about.

This. People have no clue how different the situation is here compared to a Libya or Egypt. Kinda like growing up, I always thought I was poor from a poor family. Then I went to Tijuana. Just a completely different world out there. Shame many Americans are too ****ing stupid to know that and appreciate it. (Doesn't mean it couldn't be better or that you shouldn't strive to make it so.)
