By that silly reasoning, you should just give away all your draft picks every year because anyone you select from any position could remind you of a selection that didn't work out from years (and years) past.

The draft, no matter how much work and study goes into it by the team and their scouts, is still to an extent, a crapshoot. Every team (not just the Redskins) have picks that work out and picks that don't.

We can't be afraid to take a player just because a player of the same position didn't work out nearly TWO DECADES ago.
Your right in what you say but it's just a reminder that just because the consensus is that a QB coming out of College is a 'can't miss' prospect you don't start writing the HOF acceptance speech just yet. I remember the hype around Shuler and everyone in the NFL and the media 'experts' had him tagged as a franchise QB in the waiting. That's not quite what happened.

It means nothing in relation to how RGIII develops just a warning to some of our more 'enthusiastic' posters not to get too far ahead of themselves.

If we're talking draft, then Jason Campbell?

Not to say RG3 will bust, but there is an old saying about not counting your chickens that I think might apply here.

Why do you think this? And hasn't he had two very productive years in college and with a team that isn't historically a powerhouse?

I'd say that RGIII given what we know about his physical skills, intelligence, and on field performance is more likely to suceed, but that you never know until he gets out there. In fact, we probably won't know for two or three years. Still, why would you say there's a greater fail chance?

I can only assume you are talking about Doug, and he wasn't exactly the last black QB we had, Campbell, Banks, McNabb... Last black QB with resounding success might be more true. I agree with the rest of your statement though, can't wait to see Griffin in action, he is going to be a great QB.

I for one think RG3 will be a great QB for many years to come for our Redskins. But I do find it funny how so many people are taken aback by the suggestion that there is a chance he could fail. The list of top 3 QB's (like Mr Shuler) who have utterly failed at the NFL level is long and distinguished. Robert Griffin III is a human being and has a legit chance of not panning out, no matter how good he looked in college.

Valid thread? Look at the OP, He has created three threads, two are video threads and this one. What is him motivation? Trolling for adverse reaction, he is a Cowboy fan.

NNT at min, B2A if the Mods go that way won't hurt the quality of the board.

Walk down some recent memory lane of your own pal......The 2010 Dallas Cowboys are toast. After losing to Jacksonville at home, Dallas falls to 1-6. It's over.

How does RGIII have a better chance of failing than being very successful?

ROFL even bringing Akili Smith and Griffin in the same conversation is laughable...
